So tomorrow is when i go in for a mastectomy following a lumpectomy a few weeks ago, im so frightened im also having lymph node removal. The worse thing is i know this is the right thing as the BC will be removed but i am so frightened..any words of advice please..xx
Hi Lorraine58, It is so normal to feel the way you are feeling as there are so many emotions with breast cancer surgery. My only advice is to try and take deep breaths when these feelings come and if they surface too much a good cry can be a release valve. I will be thinking of you and just think after this surgery you can keep moving forward. Giod bless you.

Hi Lorraine058
Sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer and have to have a mastectomy. Bring something to the hospital to keep yourself occupied while you are waiting to go down to the operating theatre as you might have a bit of a wait depending on where you are on the operation list.
Best of luck with the op tomorrow.
Best wishes

Hold onto that thought that it is not removing your breast, it is removing the cancer. I had a mastectomy 6 weeks ago and was really scared as I had never had surgery before. I told the staff how I was feeling and a lovely lady came into the anaesthetic room with me and held my hand. She was the last person I saw before I went to sleep and she was there when I woke up.
Good luck with everything x
I'm driving everyone crazy by trying to do too much then complaining I'm tired
I'm doing ok thank you. I know I have to have radiotherapy as one single lymph node was found to be invaded but all others clear. Waiting for oncotype results to determine whether I need chemo.
The op was no where near as bad as I had psyched myself up for. Be kind to yourself, rest, and do your physio.
Always here if you want to chat x
I will probably be the same, well hope all goes well for you thanks for the reply xx you also be kind to yourself :-)
