How long after opp did you wait for 1st appointment with Oncologist

I had the same diagnosis.  Lumpectomy Aug 16th, Saw an oncologist Sept 17th but it turned out he was based at the wrong hospital for my address.  He gave me a prescription for Letrozole, told me to take it after radiotherapy.  I was then given an appointment with the right Oncologist but this was a telephone appt.  Disappointing.  I went for breast mapping yesterday and was told radiotherapy would start Nov 1st.  It feels like everything’s fallen apart having started off well and thia is nothing like the 2-3 month’s treatment I was advised in early July.  Also annoying that you just get allocated appointments without checking and trying to change them impossible because the hosital phone numbers are defunct or don’t reply.  

Yes seem to be in no rush to start meds,I steamed open the letter today that I am giving to my Gp lol,anyway at least I know it,s a low dose of the Tamoxifen,so happy days.I simply thought I had the right to know instead of wondering.Any reason given why to wait after radiotherapy to take it?Yes I would be disappointed too re just a phone call.

I reckon they might have worse cases to deal with than us,we are probably out of danger,can,t think of any other logical reason,am fine with it,done enough worrying,not prepared to do that anymore,I do trust there decision and timings,just want to feel well for Christmas,I am expecting to start radiotherapy maybe same time as you,will know more soon.

Fortunatley my hospital has been good re .phone calls.Hope you have got the E45 to hand,re rads,I am off out tomorrow to stock up.xx
