Hello

I've just been diagnosed with invasive ductal cancer grade 3 triple negative I'm so scared is anyone going through the same?

  • I’m glad to hear that you are doing better today Jayne. I had a small clot during my treatment and was put in blood thinning injections for four months. They got rid of the clot.

    Mind yourself.

  • Hi Harleybear...how wonderful if we could all meet up sometime at a mutual point...not sure where everyone is located....I am in Bournemouth.

I had trouble with my nose when I was having the chemo...plus runny eyes.......not really a cold, but had to keep on  blowing my nose and there was always a bit of blood.....not a nose bleed. It did carry on for quite a while, but went in the end....so see how you go....you could give the breast nurse a quick call....hope you feel better soon....xxxxx

  • Hey I was born in Bournemouth, most of my wider family are still there.   I am now between Bristol and Bath so not that far.  Not sure where all the others are but I am happy to travel anywhere really when this is all done xxx

  • Wow, brilliant.....you are not too far away then...we are in Southbourne which is between Christchurch and Bournemouth....it would be so good if we could organise something for the new year....give us all something to look forward to.....and keep everyone going through the rest of the treatments....xxx

  • Hey Mel

I am glad things are looking up. Me too today started to drive again with my partner by my side. Your onco is great to give that reassurance that you so need. A bit apprehensive with appointment next week with surgeon. They will know better what treatment plan will look like. Found still some sloshing in the wound but to be expected I guess. Everything is 'waking up' post op and some tingly and numb sensations felt. Did you have a wound check?

Your rationale in thinking step by step is really good and I will take this inspiration from you.

We can do this together..me a bit behind you. Good luck come Wednesday and I will be thinking of you definitely ...sending you healing and positive vibes

  • I was born in Boscombe so know the area well .  Maybe need to organise something nearer the  spring as my chemo not finishing until end of feb then need surgery .  If we sort it so that most of us have finished treatment it will be a great goal for us all to work with xxx

  • Hey Claud , wow you sound like you are doing so well getting out driving so soon .  Take it steady though as you still healing .   I have the joys of surgery to come so good to hear all your experiences xxx

  • Hi, my wound wasn't checked until 2 weeks after the op and that is when they took the dressing off and left it off.  I went for another wound check on Thursday because I was worried there was a lot of fluid but BCN said it was fine and didn't feel it needed draining x

  • Hi @Rhiwbina

There is nothing we can do to take your pain and fears away ....don't worry about letting anyone down. Let's face it what you're going through is so so tough...and there will be up and down moments. The true strength is in people who can acknowledge vulnerability, we don't have to be strong ALL the time. But you are more resilient and brave than you think, please hang in there! We also know how our minds can sway us to dark places! Tell it you're in charge and don't let it engulf you!

All the girls here were missing you and so glad you're back here. Please don't feel pressured to respond, just make sure you rest as you should. We will be thinking and sending you strength in the coming days. A step at a time...one foot in front of another. Is all you can do! Free yourself from all pressures and stress,  we will hold your virtual hand, big hugs all the way hun

  • Sharing our experiences will make this journey a better one and less lonely a place to be. We take good and bad days and pull each other through this way.

My motivation is my boy who keeps telling me how much he wants to hug me but he can't for now...I am doing all this for my future with my partner and kid. I mustn't lose sight of this ultimate goal. We also have a project to build our own home, so need to stay alive for that!!

Great suggestion for the meet up. I am in South West too, Bradford on Avon. Love Bournemouth we go there summer time, the sea is lush!!
