I had DCIS in my left breast and had an elective skin sparring mastectomy with immediate implant reconstruction on 14th April. I’m 43 and still have regular menstrual cycle. I’m not on the pill or using any hormone contraception or medication.
During first week post surgery I had a couple of nights where I woke up from night sweating. I put it down to a cold I had at the time and appreciate post anaesthetic may cause this too. However, I’m now 12 days post op.
I’ve not taken any pain meds since the recovery suite and take no other medication.
Last night I was woken up on two occasions where I had soaked the bed in sweat. Even my knees were sweating!!!
I’m usually very fit, healthy and active.
Can anyone shed any light on these sweats?
Hi I didn't have this after surgery but I wonder if it could be a sign of an infection maybe? Do you have any other symptoms around your surgery site like redness, swelling or hot to the touch? I would contact your surgeon straight away and let them know as they should be able to help you and in case it is something that needs attention sooner rather than later.
Hope it's something they can quickly and easily sort out for you.
Thank you GodWillinggood advice. I don’t have a temperature and no redness or pain. I do have a bit of swelling to the side of my boob over my ribs and round to the back, nothing big, although certainly puffy. I’ll check with the clinic today as I had them again last night.
Thanks for taking the time to reply
