Hi everyone, my mum has had 3 rounds of EC only to have had a scan and be told it’s not working, the tumour hasn’t even stayed stable it’s spread! Now starting weekly paclitaxol... anyone had god results from this chemo or been in a similar situation? Hoping this one shrinks them or at least keeps them stable - such a rollercoaster!
Hi Caz1801, I am so sorry about your mum. She is so lucky to have you there to support her. I saw that you hadn’t had a response yet and I’m afraid that I can only give you a limited one on this but didn’t want to read this and not respond. I had my cancerous tumour removed prior to undergoing chemo so cannot comment on its effectiveness in this respect. I have been told that there is no scan etc. that they can give me to say that I am definitely 100% cancer free but I had EC, Docetaxel and then weekly Paclitaxol. I found the weekly Paclitaxol so much more tolerable than EC with far fewer side effects. I felt a lot more ‘normal’ on it and that it was not quite so brutal as the other chemo drugs to the point that I could play with my young son again etc. It was a lot more gentle compared to the others. I hope your mum finds the same and that it works for her. I have everything crossed for you.
Warm hugs, Bekky xxx
