Hello everyone, I have just received the news that I have Her2 positive breast cancer.
I caught my lump early it is only 17mm but I still have to have the lumpectomy, chemo and radiotherapy.
Anyone else going through this and does this ever go away?
Hello everyone
Hi Stillanoptimist, sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I have Idc grade 3, ER+/PR+ and HER2 positive. I had a lumpectomy (22mm) and 2 sentinel nodes removed. One of mine was positive so I am waiting for my next op to remove more nodes. I have chemo, radiotherapy and hormone treatment still on my treatment plan but can’t start this until next op has been done. It is hard to take in all and the waiting is the hardest part. Staying positive and asking friends and family to help and be supportive I have found helps. The chat forum is great too there are some many of us going through various stages and various cancers and we can message each other and help support each other
Some people have added their journey and you can see this by clicking on their names.
Wishing you all the best on your journey hugs from cuffcake x x x x x
Hi 13Poppy04, sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I have grade 3 IDC, ER+/PR+ & HER2 positive. I am still on my journey. I had clear margins around my tumour when removed but 1 of my sentinel nodes was positive so I am waiting on another op to remove more nodes . Due to the HER2 positive I need to have chemo followed by radiotherapy and hormone treatment so my plan is slightly different but each treatment plan is based on each individual case.

Stay strong and positive and don’t be afraid to ask people and family for help and support. The chat forms are a great and experiences can be shared along with support from others going through the same journey.
Wishing you all the best on your journey.

Hi Stillanoptimist
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. It’s good thatyou caught your lump early. Everybody reacts differently to treatment some people have it tough and others don’t.
I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer two years ago and had chemo, surgery and radiotherapy and I’m currently in remission. Like you I caught mine early my lump was 16 mm. I also had a lump under my arm.
Once your treatment starts things should start to look better for you and in time you will adapt to a new normal. Take things a day at a time and don’t be too hard on yourself if you are struggling. There’s plenty of support out there for cancer patients if you need it.
Wishing you the best of luck with your treatment.
Best wishes

Hi 13Poppy04
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. It’s good that things are happening quickly as it doesn’t give you too much time to worry about what’s ahead of you.
Wishing you the best of luck with your pre op assessment next Tuesday.

Hi Daisy53
Thank you for your good wishes, its a comfort knowing others are in a similar positon as me and know exactly how I am feeling.
As you have said I am not going to have too long to over worry about what is going to happen. I'm ok about it but I expect reality will kick in before too long!
Luckily I feel well, my cancer was found quite by accident during an MRI for something unrelated... I was fortunate it came to light because there were no symptoms.
Again thank you for replying.
Best wishes 13Poppy04 xx
Hi Cuffcake2000. I have similar details to you. My tumor is grade 3, ER+, PR+ and HER2+. My surgery is on Nov 3rd. I will also have chemotherapy, radiotherapy and hormone therapy. I will try to stay in touch here.
Hi Cuffcake2000
Sorry to hear that you are still on your journey. I am yet to begin mine as I only recieved my diagnosis yesterday afternoon.
As yet only my husband knows my diagnosis as I'm just not ready to tell anyone. Did you feel like that?
I feel comfort sharing with this group but cant bring myself to tell people face to face. Is this weird?
Thank you for your good wishes it means a lot.
Best wishes
13Poppy04 xx
