I used the cols cap and didn't lose as much hair as I expected.

No I'm not cold capping. 

Hi, I had 3 rounds of EC.  My hair started falling out after my first round.  It was awful one night having a shower and my hair was sticking to me - after a little panic I managed to rinse it all off my body,  to well dry my remaining hair then get dry and into my pjs.  Then I put my family plan in place.  As soon as my Consultant told me, my Daughter and my future Son in Law about my treatment plan (surgery, then chemo, then radiotherapy), as we walked out of the hospital my daughter's fiancé told me - don't be scared we / I've got you.  When you start your chemo and your hair starts falling out I will help you and take the rest off if you want!  I thought he was joking but he insisted the offer was there.  So as soon as I was in my PJs I decided to "own my hair" and sent my daughter's fiancé (now husband) a message on our family WhatsApp asking what times his hair salon is open. He said anytime come round in the morning as it was his day off work.  Lo and behold when I turned up, he had set up a chair in the kitchen with towels around it in the floor.  He sat me down, asked if his assistant (my daughter)  could get me a drink eg tea, coffee, double whisky, wrapped a towel round my neck then got out his electric razor and chopped off my remaining hair. I had always thought of how stunning Halle Berry looked when she had her hair cut really short for a film.  I thought if she can look like that with such short hair then so can I.  My thoughts and advice is to do the same.  Own it instead of chemotherapy for your cancer taking it from you (plus it is an awful feeling when you are having a shower and your clumps of hair is sticking to your body).  Get someone to shave it off and once you get used to it you will feel stronger.  You can get different styles of head coverings from Amazon for when you go out somewhere. Also if you want to ask your Breast Care Nurse if she can arrange an appointment for you to see the hospital MacMillan Wig Service expert.  I got a wig for my daughter's wedding through my hospitals service.  It was really life-like in fact people who knew commented how brilliant I looked with it on.  I send you gentle hugs - you can and will get through this xx
