Hi everyone

I received the news two weeks ago that I have grade two lobular breast cancer. I feel I’m such limbo as I’m awaiting an appointment for a MRI scan. I feel like I’m ok one minutes then experiencing emotions of frustration then upset. Anyone else experienced these emotions?? If so how do you handle them??

  • Hi, you're really not alone in this. I think up until a treatment plan is confirmed, it's a rollarcoaster of unknowns and I know I found it really hard, especially the frustration of waiting for scans and results. I tried really hard to keep myself busy and distracted, sorry but that's all I can advise.  Best wishes

  • Hi Pauline,

The feeling you describe of being in limbo is very common, particularly just after diagnosis. I was diagnosed with lobular breast cancer over three years ago, and I remember feeling as though I was in a parallel universe. Once you have your treatment plan and a date for surgery, you should begin to feel more in control. It’s a horrible period initially after diagnosis. As Irishgirl16 mentioned keeping busy and distracted does help.  Try to focus on activities you enjoy.
    Take care of yourself.
