Hi there

It’s 2 weeks next Monday since I found my lump.  I was diagnosed on our silver wedding anniversary, agreed treatment plan on my son’s 21st birthday and met my oncologist on my birthday.  I had 4 lots of chemo, lumpectomy, 4 more lots of chemo, finally followed by 20 sessions of radiotherapy.  Finished a week before lockdown number 1 last year.  I’ve found strength in others and myself that I never knew existed, if you’re newly diagnosed and offered help - take it.  I have lymphodema as a result of losing some lymph nodes, but I was referred and am getting help.

I had a bra fitting at my local M & S store today, to get a good, supportive bra to help contain the lymphodema.  It was a brilliant experience, the lady was so lovely, really kind and reassuring.  I was apprehensive but now wish I’d done it sooner, well worth the time.

If anyone has any questions or I can help in any way, please let me know xx

Hi Debbiedevil welcome to the forum and thank you so much for sharing your story and positive take on the Breast Cancer journey as it is stories from people like you that help many others and help to alleviate lots of fears and uncertainties and Im sure that you will agree that's a great thing to have available.  It also gives others hope that the outcome can be positive and most of the side effects can be managed even if they are challenging even about where to go for the bra fitting and how well that went.

Hopefully you will hang around on the forum and help others and we will see you around here.

    Best Wishes for now.  xxx
