I know that we are few and far between (only 300 diagnosed a year) .
I am hoping to raise awareness of BC in men. I am writing a Blog to start with http://dougeharper.wordpress.com/
Of course it is not all about the men. Women have a much tougher time with their Masectomies and it is nice to support each other

There is a man on this site but he hasn't been active for quite a while. If you put the name Thrup into the Search box at the top right of the page it will take you to his Profile page. You could then ask to be his friend and if he responds you could send him a Personal Message. Hope he does respond - he is quite a character!
Best wishes,
KateG
Thanks for the introduction KateG; you probably meant a dubious character.
I am in the enviable position of being signed off from the 6-monthly checks with the consultant 9or more likely one of his minions) and only have 5 months to go on the Tamoxifen.
I am very well, working and enjoying family life and I am only too happy (or too eager?) to share experiences with other men who are becoming more in touch with their feminine side than they ever thought possible.
I shall follow your progress with interest.
I'm not a man and I don't have breast cancer but I do get wound up every time someone on facebook starts another posting campaign where you're supposed to write something daft and not tell men what it means.
SORRY to anyone who does that but it's good to be reminded that we women don't hold the monopoly on breast cancer and need to be a bit more sensitive to the fact that men get it too. There are plenty of 'girls only' and 'boys only' cancers but we've all got breasts.
Best wishes
Barbara

Thank you very much for the kind words and thanks for following. It has been a trying year so far to say the least.
There is indeed a major difference between men and women with BC.
For a start, it is a hell of a lot more of a truama for a women to have a Mastectomy, just the psychological effects alone.
On a different scale, as there are so few men that get BC, the is a lack of support for us. I see that as no ones fault,. You cannot have support groups if there is no one else to turn up
As you say, we all have breasts
