Yes indeed I had such a sore nipple! It got sorer and sorer during the 3 weeks (15 sessions was the norm back in 2019). I had a review midway and the consultant radiologist gave me some dressings to wear inside my bra. She also suggested I just wear a crop top as that would put less pressure on it. It got sorer and sorer and seemed to turn black (sorry if tmi but worse is to come…). Around 12.weeks post rads a huge scab came off when I was moisturising - I really thought the end of my nipple had fallen off but it was ‘just’ a big scab. After that I actually felt some relief as I think it was pulling at the skin. My nipple was very pale, almost colourless and stayed like that for many months. It’s also now inverted which it wasn’t before. It’s gradually resolved somewhat over the years but is still very different from pre treatment. Sorry for the long ramble but I hope it’s reassuring! I also had very weird scales on the skin of my breast which slowly sloughed off over many weeks. A doctor at the breast clinic said they just can’t predict how people will react to rads - she said my breast clearly didn’t like it at all ! But I’d still rather have had it, hopefully to reduce my risk of having a recurrence. Needless to say, if you are worried about your own situation do contact the breast clinic. Love and hugs, HFxx
