Hi Scouse4 welcome to the forum. Im thinking that 2 weeks after such a big operation pain would still be an issue. There may be lots of bruising, healing and nerve endings involved. So if I was you I wouldn't be too concerned at this point. However, I'm sure some of the lovely folks on here will be along soon and they may be able to offer more information for you. X
Hi Scouse4
I had a single mastectomy on 6th November (3 weeks ago) The day after surgery I had no pain at all. Then I've had varying degrees of pain. I am doing the exercises and they do hurt! I am persevering with them though & don't push too much if it hurts. I do think it's normal to still have pain after such a major op. I will have my post op appointment on 13th December, so also waiting for pathology results.
Thank you last was as bad with pain I go every week to see breast care nurse back tomorrow I will ask them I am doing exercises the second lot r harder than the first .I am resting and literally dong nothing as they told me not to.am walking each day but even that is a bit painful can't complain about he cut it's perfect .I just feel very tight across chest and sore going towards collar boneand just below by ribs.its two weeks tomorrow.yes and waiting for the results.xx I hope you start to feel better soon and yr results go good too.sending gentle hugs ️ xx
I also feel very tight across the chest & under arm & under ribs. I also have numbness across chest. I haven't had any visits or calls from breast cancer nurse though I know I could call her if i needed to. I did have an infection last week across the surgical site buy been on antibiotics so better now.
Try to carry on with the exercises as much as you can as it will help with your arm mobility & help prevent cording & lymphodema.
I was able to drive after 2 weeks so I can get out & about & visit family. Very therapeutic!
Remember, it's early days yet. It will get better xxxx
