Pain ….. cording?

Hello!

I am experiencing ongoing pain following lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy 11 days ago. I am feeling this in my armpit and then running down my arm to my elbow, and sometimes as far as my wrist.

i have read about something called ‘cording’ and am wondering if there is a chance it could be this, even though it’s more commonly linked to full lymph node clearance. Can anyone reassure me this is just normal and it’s still early days for me? Has anyone experienced something similar?

My post surgery follow up appointment is in another 3 weeks (32 days after my op) so that feels some way off at the moment….

Thanks so much!

  • Hi, it's so difficult to say what this pain could be, but 3 weeks is a long time to wait to be honest. If I were you I’d call the breast care nurse and have a chat.  Best wishes

  • Hi

Do you get the pain only on stretching? I got this early on and only had sentinel lymph node biopsy so it’s still possible it’s cording. I looked up specific exercises for cording and it resolved itself quite quickly.

Hope you get some relief soon. Xx
