Genetic testing wait time for results

That wait time doesn't seem right.

I had my genetic tests done last March, was told 6-8 week wait and the results came back in May, on time.

Hi, thanks for the reply...I am in contact with the genetic counsellor and she just keeps apologising and saying the wait times keep getting longer. I asked if she can reassure me that everything is OK and she said basically this is the wait and she will be in contact when the results are back. But I've not seen anyone else having the same issues. I don't know where to go to get more clarification and just feel that the ladt 15 months have been a constant wait for results. It messes with your head!

Just a thought, where in the country was your sample tested? Mine went to Addenbrookes, Cambridge x

I'm in Devon and my treatment has all been through the RD&E in Exeter.

I wouldn't know where the testing was done and I just assume it was internal.

Hi ItsJustMe , I had my genetics appointment and blood test in January last year, and got the results 3 months later. The blood test was taken at St Marks hospital in north west London, and it was analysed at Great Ormond Street. That sounds like a ridiculously long wait, sorry you’re going through that. The whole thing is stressful enough! I hope you hear soon. It’s such a ‘limbo’ time, waiting for results. Love and hugs, HFxx

My daughter had her test and when the 8 week wait passed she rang and  they gave her a telephone consultation a week later. My other daughter who hasn’t been tested yet has been told she has to wait until at least spring due to so many people needing testing

I was tested last June and results where back 3 weeks later that was Shropshire .

Thanks Vicky, I've had my consultation and done the blood test and it's the results of this I'm waiting on.
