Morning everyone
Seeking reassurance that everything is OK and it's just the healing process.
I had an smx with sentinel node removal 13 weeks ago, no reconstruction. Healed fairly quickly apart from a seroma which reabsorbed. The pain, soreness and bruising had all but gone but seems to have returned this last couple of days, mainly at either end of my scar. Compared to some, I have been "lucky" as I haven't needed chemo or radio.
I suppose my question is, is this a normal part of the healing process? I was just starting to get my head around everything and thankful that the pain was almost gone and I was getting back to some sort of normality. Will ring my BCN in the morning but looking for reassurance in the meantime.
Thank you.
Hi I had lumpectomy with reconstruction 11 months ago. Up untill last month I was always achy and bumpy. All checked again by surgeon and reassured. I was also told aches and pains can last months or years. Don’t stress too much, hopefully BN can reassure you.
ps, my hubby turned and walked into me by accident 2 days ago and was right into my affected breast. I nearly thumped him !
