  1. Quick back story, Was diagnosed in sept 21  (after being misdiagnosed since April 21) mastectomy and SNB (1/3 positive) Nov 21 26mm invasive with a total of 92mm (non ivasive and invasive) was due to start chemo in the Jan 22 but my youngest DD got covid and then so did I, so chemo was deferred until Feb 22. Started chemotherapy last week, having 5FEC-T and then on the 4th cycle I will start Herceptin.
  2. Just really wanted some positive vibes tbh as although yes I know my cancer has a positive outcome at the end of all the treatments (consultant said 98% survival rate for the next 10 years), it is a very scary place to be especially when I have children at home and my partner lives elsewhere, it's harder that I am not allowed to bring anybody with me while I have the chemotherapy due to covid restrictions etc. Anyway, I hope everyone is doing ok. Thank you for reading x
  • That's great news. Just what you need to hear.. The end I'd in sight..

I had an echo & ECG and am off to have a CT scan in a bit.. Such an exciting life I lead

I hope everyone is doing ok no matter where they are in there treatment.

  • Hi Tizzy. Very best of luck for Friday and hopefully won't be too bad.

My thrush has calmed down at but still on the meds to help. Finally eating again so that's good. Thumbsup

I am like you next Chemo Docetaxol on 10th May but hoping it won't be too bad either.

Yes just another 21 of these injections to go in total.

Can't wait to finish this chemo and move onto getting my surgery.

End is in sight Tizxy we have got this.

Take care and enjoy the rest of the nice night xxx HeartRainbow

  • Hope youre all ok Ladies, had my first chemo yesterday, was so tearful but it was better than i thought, the worst was the herceptin in the leg.

Gave the cold cap a go..

Dident sleep through, took steroids too late.

Tummy ache todday and a flushed face

Got nurses coming to do the daily jabs tommorow for 7 days as we cant face needles.

    1 down 5 to go

    Dee

  • Well done.. The first is the worst as it's the unknown.. You'll be ok.. Wierdly it becomes a way of life.

I can understand the dreaded daily jabs. My husband does mine. And even now after 4 lots I still can't look..

    Take care Kissing heart

  • Morning Dee. You will be glad to get that 1st one done. Its the fear of the unknown that causes our anxiety about it.

I tend to take steroids early in the day but my sleep isn't great either. I think the Herceptin starts with my next chemo not sure if it's an injection or intravenous.

I found the face and neck flushing last week but not with the 1st 2.

Hope you manage your first few days with everything you need to make it easier.Heart

Take care and hugs to all you girls. We are getting through this. xxxHeartRainbow

Well done  :). Now you’ve had the first one you have got the hard part out of the way and you are on the path to getting this bit over. And I do believe this is the worst part, it will get easier…

I wasn’t too keen on the herceptin injection either the first time as it stung a bit but actually the second time I barely felt it and it does get better. I think a lot of it depends on who does it!! Sometimes I have barely felt it, other times it’s stung a tiny bit..

Let us know how you get on with the cold cap.. I wanted to try it but then decided not to make things any more uncomfortable… I have one more session so I’m hoping after that my hair will start to appear again quickly!

i have the nurses come too, I can’t bear the thought of doing it myself!!

well done, keep going, you’re doing really well x

  • I still do my injections myself for the 7 days. Its hubby who looks away.Grin

That was my last one yesterday so controlled back pain with heat pads and stronger painkillers so wasn't too bad.

Thrush still here but got another 3 and a half days of meds they gave me.

    Onwards and upwards xxzHeartRainbow

  • Thank you all so much..

Very much fear of the unknown yesterday

Im enjoying today before the nurse tommorowPensive

  • well done on getting the first chemo put the way, I have mine tomorrow and the herceptin, just had the phone call from the chemo team to say all is good to go, bloods, ecg and pcr all come back fine, my heart is normal size and still ticking so that's a bonus. Noticed yesterday that I've lost my eye lashes (don't wear any makeup so don't look in a mirror), eyebrows are still hanging in there just really thin atm. My chemo nurse has said this should be a doddle compared to the fec as the red stuff is one of the worst they give, so there's hope yet although I'm still anxious about it. Steroids to take tonight and tomorrow morning aswel as the normal hay-fever tab.

I hope everybody has a great day, lovely weather where I am, bit overcast but barely any breeze, fab xx
