So! As is well discussed on here, food on docetaxel is disgusting. There are things that I don’t think I’ll ever eat again so gross have they become, sausages being the latest!! My question is this, is there anything that isn’t totally disgusting in peoples genuine experience not necessarily what they’ve read? So far I’ve found sorbet lollies aren’t too bad but I can’t survive on those, anything else?
Ok! So. These are things that aren’t too hideous for me: grapes, peaches, some yogurts, yogurt lollies, porridge(some days), bananas to a point, some soups, m&s choc chip shortbread off the bakery Apple and cinnamon granola cereal, Satsumas, but they hurt my mouth ulcers, think that’s about it for now.
Things that are disgusting! Chocolate (my previous favourite) herby sausages, fish fingers sweet ice cream like chocolate or caramel, sourdough, in fact bread generally isn’t great, wine
Crumpets (which were good but by 4th dose not so good) xx
Hi Anna, I too had awful problems with food.....it's a nightmare....especially being a foodie and a reasonable cook which is my hobby......they say keep away from your favourite foods as you may find that it will mess it up for you when your taste buds do return...which they will.....I couldn't stand any hot food.....I lived on yoghurt, and frozen yoghurt and icecream and egg mayonnaise sandwiches which I put in the fridge until they were really cold..... yes ginger biscuits were a good standby.....water even with juice was a struggle but had to drink....I don't particularly like eggs that much but found i could eat them.....by day 14 I was able to eat a few more things.....keep going.....sad about the wine....I missed that
Lots of love.....keep going....xxxx
I’m struggling with the egg mayonnaise honestly I didn’t realise quite how much pleasure I I get from eating until I didn’t enjoy eating. I find myself forcing myself to eat because I know I have to or I feel hungry then I feel sick! You should’ve seen me trying to have fish finger sandwiches yesterday ( who dies t love a fish finger sandwich?!) like a dog eating cucumber
Thanks for your tips x
