Hi I am awaiting a breast mri. Yesterday was advised I am stage 1 grade 2 hormone positive, still awaiting her.  Could not be given a proper sizing, but having an mri so can be sized properly and they can get a more detailed picture of my breast.  Advised its small by consultant on two mammograms and advised about 1cm, lump cannot be felt.  Just nervous at what mri will show and my final size. Any advice please

Dcis can cause a lump. Initially I was diagnosed with DCIS after biopsy but obviously they didn't pick up the invasive cells so it changed to stage 2 after surgery. My oncotype as 21 so intermediate but because I am 49 they felt that i would benefit from chemo. If I was 50, six months older, they would not have suggested chemo!

    Hi,

Mine could not be felt by the Hospital Drs they thought it was rib but, I could feel it, it measured 2.5cm of ultrasound but was 5CM at Surgery 2 weeks later.  It hadn't shown up on a mammogram just a couple of months prior either but I'm told it was most likely their as hormone dependent cancers are relatively slow growing.  Its good that they are doing an MRI that should give them more detail.

All the best with your Surgery/treatment. It is very difficult when you are at the beginning of a diagnosis  and awaiting a treatment plan, their is so much I wished I'd known, I didn't even know about this site until several months after my surgery.
