Hi all
Reaching out to the community to ask if anyone has any experience using foot massagers or foot baths to ease CIPN.
I am 6 months post chemo, and struggling with ongoing CIPN affecting my feet (mainly my toes). It is ok as long as I don’t move up much! Walking more than 15 mins makes the tingling at rest become borderline painful.
I’ve tried medication but they just made me sleepy and did little for the pain. I have a job that requires I’m on my feet a lot of the day, so I’m wearing the most comfortable trainers I can but not much help. Combined with chemo induced menopause and the joint ache/stiffness that has brought I feel 91 not 41!
I’m considering getting a food massager or a foot spa to see if that will ease the symptoms, but wondering what others have tried!
Thank you!
Hi Pipsqueak80
Sorry to hear you’re suffering from CIPN. I know how painful and depressing that can be. I recently replied to another thread HERE with my experience of CIPN in my feet and what I’ve tried to relieve it. Luckily I found a cream which helped and now I’m able to walk long distances normally with no pain, even though the balls of my feet are still numb.
I didn’t try footbaths at all, but in the beginning I was massaging my feet twice a day with Aveeno and using a Spikey ball to try and stimulate the nerves. Unfortunately it didn’t seem to help much. I also tried menthol aqueous cream but that irritated rather than helped, but some people find this helps relieve the tingling.
If you’ve got any questions after reading the other thread, please come back to me. Hopefully you can find something to relieve the pain.

Just read your thread, really helpful thank you! I will speak to my GP about the cream. So good to hear you’re doing so well! Can I ask where you are? Interested to hear about the CIPN clinic! I’m in London.
thank you!
I’m being treated by the Pain Team at the Royal Marsden. I go to Sutton but I believe they also run a clinic at the Chelsea centre. I had all my treatment there so I don’t know how easy it is get a referral from another hospital.
Good luck with speaking with your GP
