It seems I'm a patient now!

But not a very patient one!

I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?

Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that,  plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.

By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.

But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

  • Son came over a couple of hours before a rehearsal locally, and we did a fairly good job reuniting  quite a lot of the 1:76 scale vehicles to their original boxes. Hubs had them organised into different collection boxes for his Hornby set but in original boxes they are obviously worth more. And yes, hubs kept the original boxes! Hopefully we can eventually dismantle the railway base and then get rid of the wood, but sell the Hornby set up, rails and electric drive system to interested people or auction it all off.

Next there’s a display cabinet which actually has some hand built 1:43 scale cars and trucks, but a few that again have their boxes to reunite with, hubs was a keen collector of vehicles that meant something to him, or reflected his many years working for Vauxhall and Bedford divisions of General Motors, Europe.

Now as it’s getting hot again, I’ve got feet up in front of the tv, having just watched the emotional ‘Repair Shop’

  • I have been at the local hospice today for my reiki. When I told them how  stressed  I felt waiting for the results of my first annual mammogram, they kindly put in a call to the hospital for me to let them know.  On my drive home  I have had a call from the hospital to tell me my scans were clear!!!! I know you will understand just how relieved I am feeling right now.

  • That's great news Mag123.  Congratulations I'm delighted for you.

    Best wishes
