It seems I'm a patient now!

But not a very patient one!

I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?

Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that,  plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.

By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.

But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

  • Ooh that looks so nice- might even give it a go!Thankyou for sharing the idea. sending hugs xx

  • Good idea    cooking it on a rectangular tray. I usually use a flan dish......it's a Normandy Apple Tart if anyone needs to check a recipe....but it can get messy to dish up if the stewed apple is a bit loose. I would imagine you get better slices with that shape. How is the leg tonight?

....the mincemeat plait will be nice too.

Here's something to make you laugh... .last week while I was waiting for the neurologist my mobile text rang. It was my son. He'd picked up my shopping list from the fridge as he was heading to the supermarket.  I scribble all sorts on that and had put mincemeat as a reminder for the English stall in the market. The text showed a series of photos of packets of minced beef from 5% to 20% fat. Which did I want, it asked? I had no idea why I had written minced beef but replied I always have the 5%. Only later did I realise.....mincemeat for pies not minced meat for shepherds pie!

    Good night all................

  • So shepherds pie for supper Karen because hubby does early shop 7.30 am I now write xmas mincemeat lol

I do the plait for Sean because as a weightlifter Lifter he has an enormous appetite a mince pie Doesn't touch the sides

This is same size tray as moomy but cut in half .

Must Try Moomys idea of Normandy tart on tray instead of flan dish .

Sorry your son didn't get sorted but good you get to see him for longer . Our Son is coming from Norfolk to see Daughter when she comes to her mums home near us around 9th so she can then isolate before being indoors with other nana .

It's tier three here so we will all meet outdoors (5) for A winter walk  bringing our own picnics .

Paul will be travelling from tier 2 but because of business crosses thru all tiers as well as visiting France regularly over recent months . His Daughter has bubble in Nottingham then bubble with mum extended to other Nana . So we have decided too many bubbles to be indoors .

Our daughter has agreed with us that to try to have our usual family xmas dinner and maintain SD is too difficult so xmas day walk together planned .

Think I'm looking forward to the change

  • Awww, glad my Apple thingy has a name, thank you Karen!
that looks a yummy way of making minced beef plaits, Margaret!

I’ve just done an hour of yoga before bed, I ‘think’ my leg is gradually improving, it’s not as painful thank goodness but still has the fine twitchiness which I would guess is from my back really, (I have a bad scoliosis from my teen years plus now several discs disintegrating) it’s almost like a tiny spider crawling around in calf and foot (that’s me being imaginative!)

hope the yoga helps sleep, it usually does.
