It seems I'm a patient now!

But not a very patient one!

I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?

Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that,  plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.

By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.

But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

    Awww .. he is gorgeous!

Siiiiigh you couldn't make it up!!! Dizzy face Got my Ben out for a not too stressy pootle about walk between thunder and jets and all going well... and furniture van backfired!!!

He coped reasonably well... actually considering how he used to be he is doing amazingly well but now that he is older I do worry about the effect of such prolonged stress on his health

.OK I have already posted this pic but here he is again with him (us) in silly mode

Oh and speaking of silly, in the park yesterday someone had added leaf eyes to the face in the tree!

    Cheers

Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!

  • O

ShimmeringUnicorn  meet Dexter who also hates fireworks etc. Wouldn't dare bring him to your air show he been shouting at any plane that dared to go over us to get to you .

We have found that if we cover him with large bath sheet he settles .. a lot cheaper than thunder jackets .. but doesn't look as cool Sunglasses

For some reason he not keen to go for walk dressed in towel lol

    Awwe  Dexter is fab.

My Ben was rescued as a tiny puppy and had to be taught to wag his tail and bark. I have worked on his stress...I taught him to bark at motorbikes through example (!! Yes really) and he did and then decided they weren't worth bothering with. Using the term 'noisy' in a dismissive tone means I can apply it from that situation to others  ..trouble is thunder not consistent enough and fireworks ridiculously loud and go on for months then nothing!

I do try the compression thing with him...doesn't help that my partner thinks any attention given when stressing is reinforcing it. Tough!... it is me that gets him out and rewards him with cheese Smile

Err...the dog not the man...although they are similar in sooo many ways Slight smile

    Cheers

  • Dexter is cute!

We had a good night with Henry, he made it clear that sleeping downstairs wasn’t on, so brought his bed up. He settled quickly then, I got woken just after 7 and having been out for a wee and had his breakfast, he asked nicely to come onto the bed where he’s now fast asleep again!

    And it’s raining again!

  • Hahahaha, the world according to Henry, eh?!

I suspect you’re quite right! However of course, not being our pooch we do have to give and take and follow rules as best we can!

He’s supposedly all sleepy by this time in the evening but I think he threw out the rule book this afternoon! (I think he suddenly remembered he’s tired though)

Ben looks lovely and lucky to be rescued by someone who understands him . Although I now have a mental picture of you teaching him to wag his tail !!

Perhaps if you gave hubby some cheese he wouldn't object to Ben getting attention lol

I use" not a problem " to reassure Dexter .Thunder and fireworks are his biggest stress .

Funny enough planes and helicopters do not frighten him . Our caravan is quite high up and is in an area that is used for fighter practice . So we get priva te low flying shows  Dexter insists on being on deck so he can watch and chase . Don't know what would happen if he ever could catch one RoflJoy
