But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

Oh seaspirit44. It is horrid isn't it. But maybe we are now over the worst? We have dropped from 33 to 31! We have had curtains closed and living room just about bearable.
is it possible for you to have a cool shower or do you need to wait for builders to leave
Cool breezes (instead of hugs) xx
Seaspirit, it’s just miserable, isn’t it?
we've dismantled the pool and gazebo as it’s windy and threatening storms tonight, my watch now says it’s 37C again, so maybe it’s going to cool.
I put a wet flannel in a bowl in the fridge and wipe down with it, it helps a bit. But yes, we’ve had curtains and windows all closed and fans going all over the house.
Neighbours have a radio of loud pop music in the garden, they’ve now gone in but left the pop racket still on out there; how considerate - not!
Cooling hugs xxx

Hi all if you use Groupon they have cool pillow pads on offer . I've just ordered two .
I do all my internet shopping thru quidco so will get 12% cash back but they were only about £4 each then a saving of 10% so well worth it .
Good thing is put them in freezer for short while then cover and place feet on ....bliss
, I can manage with 2 big fans in the bedroom with curtains closed and windows open. Problem is when I have to do something! Workmen finished for today.
moomy, shame you had to dismantle pool and gazebo. What awful neighbours!
@ northener good move xxxx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
AnnJac I tried today with windows closed as well as blinds Then fan on . According to someone somewhere you have to stop warm air coming in it seemed to work ..
Hi Seaspirit,
pool and gazebo needed to come down because of the threatened storms, plus the water needed changing anyway. But yes, pesky neighbour!
hi all, I’ve adopted the closed windows as soon as the air outside warms above room temp, closed curtains on the sunlit side, and all fans going. It does help. It was quite remarkable that while we were working outside (slowly, due to the heat!) and then came in it was a good few degrees cooler inside. And our house, being 1970’s construction, isn’t well insulated in spite of us adding what we can!
Wet flannels in the fridge helps!

Haven't got any fans:-)
Took a wet flannel to bed last night. A wipe over head and neck every so often helped a bit.
Hubby got 2 rounds of golf tomorrow. Too much. He's played too much this week already and jaded. And he has to do most of household stuff now. Got cleaner back but still got washing and ironing etc. I manage simple cooking but he has to clear up ...
Here's hoping for cooler tomorrow. Still saying high 20s though.
Hope everyone ok.
Hi all yip it's bad enough with flushes without this added heat on top I take my Amazon hand held fan an bottle of water everywhere got bedroom window open at night but the seagulls have a nest across from house aaaagh think the heat does make us a bit cranky well just had cool shower an feet up am going to check out Groupon av already got one pillow but it's a good offer so one for my head and one for my feet ha ha thanks for the tip northener at Maggie's tomorrow cooking class and we are making soup wish it was salad xx
How do you manage without fans !
Have you heard from neuro yet?
Re your hubby, it's very difficult to give up normal pleasures/ routines and it's understandable to carry on despite this awful heat. It is very difficult for you, being progressively more unable to do just normal things.
Hang in there! Xxx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
Gracious, no fans, AnnJac?
I’m not sure I’d have coped without! We have fans a-plenty all over the house!
I hope your hubs is realising playing golf this much in this heat is not the best idea? Glad you’re having help cleaning at home, but you need to get that appointment ASAP!
Last night was so hot! There have been a few distant rumbles of thunder here a few minutes ago, and I’ve just switched fans off as it’s already lots cooler, with a bit of a cool breeze coming through the windows. Think an afternoon nap will be on the cards!
