But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

Hi moomy
why are there numbers with your name….
hope massage therapist helps Moomy.
im having a tough time with tooth extraction, expensive root canal and now more. I’ve talked with bcn too.
the ‘more’ is very strange as before check up and extraction last week the dentist gave me a full mouth X-ray with no explanation, I was already a bit stressed about tooth being pulled, so didn’t ask at the time. Then she looked X-ray and said I need specialist work on a back tooth that had root canal work and a crown, actually root canal clearance and a replacement crown!!!
I have no symptoms. I wondered if Maxo-facial would step in as I’m on bisphosphanates (how did that word come into being?!) & I’m not complicated enough. I’ve now been given a list of local dentists on the ‘Integrated Care Board’ and will phone one today. It’s going to cost though…
the RC work will cost £1000, or an extraction which I really don’t want, after this front one is still recovering/ healing. I want a second opinion, but also I’m waiting for a report of the X-ray.
I did have a CT of my mouth a month or so ago, looking at the tooth pre extraction, which they hadn’t picked up, a friend did who was a dentist.
suddenly I’m loosing faith in my dentist! I feel vulnerable, I can’t wear my denture for long, makes the surrounding teeth ache.
im about to email again my dentist asking for the X-ray report and why they did that…..think of me.

Oh bless you Jayhay and there are numbers behind your name too? Mine got replaced with the update, I emailed ‘community.macmillan’ and they sorted it and can for you too. Apparently it’s happened to a few users and they are trying to get it automatically adjusted but I found it irritating yesterday so one of the Admin team sorted it for me.
Really hope your dental issues get sorted, bisphosphanates do worry dentists I know. Thinking of you and sending good vibes your way

My dentist went Denplan ages ago but because I reckoned they were good dentists in the practice I stayed with them. Price inevitably rises each year….Most treatment is included but any prosthetics (crown making, for example) I have to pay the construction costs which aren’t a big amount. They didn’t bat an eyelid when I broke the news about bisphosphanates, and were happy enough when I said I was having Zolendronic Acid infusions now.
I hope you can get a respectable second opinion.
Moomy
I can empathise with you re dental issues Jayhay It’s stressful enough but more so when you are unsure why things are being suggested.
I do hope you get some answers from your dentist and get input/a second opinion which helps restore your confidence.
