But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

Drat moomy not the news you wanted to hear but not all tests done so got fingers crossed. If I remember right your daughter is with friends so they will be helping her along through this time of testing and uncertainty. How’s your son doing?
Weather here has been rather damp this morning but just been out to shops … always forget something !!

Life is always a bit of this and that with plenty of ups and downs. I am hoping for a great result on pet scan .

She’s had her jab and is now resting so is most likely asleep! I too hope the PET doesn’t show too many lit up areas. But she’s still got several new drugs since she was struggling to gain remission.
Blood cancers are a bit different to ours, remission took her 7 1/2 years and a novel type of treatment just emerging. it was awaiting FDA approval when she was allowed it on compassionate basis. Then a donor bone marrow transplant which could easily have killed her. I’m really worried that it’s failed.

Today I took two buses and got to Harrogate, saw the historic areas of the spa and pump rooms, a small museum was interesting, and some great architecture. Had lunch at a high street bar, rather than the famous Betty’s tea room (though I did buy a scone/cake called a ‘Fat Rascal’, photo later!)

Your country is absolutely beautiful and I love architecture especially the old wonderful buildings that are spectacular. You take me on a journey every day and although I don’t comment all the tim I absolutely enjoy it. Thank you for making the effort. Love it

Daughter had her scan, now at her normal life, an Easter brass course for youngsters.
I’ve had weird effects, felt unwell both on her biopsy day and also this afternoon when she had her scan. I had this with my Dad and a little with hubs but not so much with daughter until this new part of her illness.
Im ok now of course.
lovely to have read your comment, Hopeful Barb , I’m glad to have brought things to life a little for you.

Son is on Skye and they saw the Aurora in all its glory last night, some stunning photos but they got pretty cold.
However it was cloudy here all night and had some rain too, it’s so funny how varied this country is!
I was feeling dreadful last Monday and also yesterday my eyes were reacting oddly. Looks like I was reacting to daughter and her tests?! I know we’ve a close bond, but it’s interesting it happened. I’m fine now, and she is at her ‘day job’ of tutoring in the Brass Academy. She always felt as if in hospital, she was a ‘lab rat’ but the moment she was out, became herself again.
Todays forecast is sunshine and showers so I’ll take it steady and maybe not do a lot, perhaps the village pub for dinner tonight.

In the end, I took a walk round the village (some lovely houses) and spent the rest of the day here in the van, reading, tv, nap, eating….well, it’s a holiday! (But no chocolate!)
daughter is enjoying the company and fun with the Brass Academy folk. She’s needing the distraction of course, bless her.
i move on tomorrow, to Thirsk, my penultimate stop (there’s one night near Belper to break the journey home)

You are close to your daughter moomy so not surprised you feel something when daughter is going through this.
my twin had heart surgery and we messaged right up to time of her going to op theatre, I couldn’t do anything until she gone under. But she does exasperate me (right word?) and has so much more energy than me, we are so different but at times close.
hope you don’t mind me sharing moomy
my hubbie has been on psa blood tests every 6 months. Last one psa high. Surgery called him in for health check, iron was low, repeat of bloods 3 weeks later & wee, no.2’s. Found blood so next week has a gastroenterology scope and colonoscopy…. Not going to be pleasant, also the drinks, but only white food 3 days before.
Any tips on food with out milk veg or fruit be helpful, trying to get him to drink more and eat unsatisfactory food will be a struggle!!!
must be lovely in your camper even tho turned chilly the sun is out more here. You’re much further north of course!
bolton Abbey is not far from you I think, with its stepping stones it’s a beauty…
