But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

I’m fine with you sharing, Jayhay , of course! In fact it’s lovely to read your posts.
Im now parked up on Thirsk racecourse. I got to Thirsk far too early of course so decided I’d drive through and find the White Horse (not old, but formed on the hillside of the Sutton Bank escarpment up to the North York Moors.) So it was off to a village called Kilburn. Goldie climbed beautifully up steep narrow roads to the Forestry Commission car park where we stopped for a while, debating whether to change into walking boots and hike or whether to find ‘Mouseman’ in the village below. Yes, that’s where the famous wood carver lived and had his workshops. It’s still run by the next generations of the family in a lovely wood crafting workshop and display area opposite. Yes, that’s where I went.
sadly the museum hasn’t opened since COVID but the new buildings opposite had quite a few modern mouse items for sale, rather pricey for me I’m afraid, but I did buy some bits for early presents to the offspring’s households.
then off to Thirsk, I’m all parked up but have to move off the field to a rally field as there’s racing on Tuesday afternoon. So 24 hours away from my pitch (hope I cope without EHU!)
I’ve done a needed shop as there’s a handy Lidl. Will be off to explore the centre of town soon.

Just heard a recording of a very informative call from the doctor who took daughters biopsy, the PET scan shows it’s only in her neck at present, two in one side (one that she felt) and one slight uptake on the other side. It showed scar tissue from where the big node was in her chest but nothing lit up which is good.
They do think it’s a relapse, but there are options, to be discussed with Graham Collins after the MDT following the biopsy result (later next week)
one includes a lymphocyte infusion booster from her donor, another being an antibody-type drug, Nivolumab. Her ferritin levels which had risen, could be a symptom of inflammation due to the relapse.
I’ve had a very early dinner at a pleasant italian restaurant in town. One advantage being so close!

So glad to hear that your daughter is feeling so much more positive after her results phone call. You must feel so relieved yourself. And your holiday is sounding very lovely! Love and hugs, HFxx
I popped into see the parish church (St Mary’s) and was at the start of a service of reflection so I stayed. Then had a quiet look around the church, it was soothing.

This makes me smile as I am so glad to hear that you and your daughter are feeling so much more positive. What a relief .

It made me feel better to stay away on my break rather than cancelling and rushing home for her.
I’ve been into Thirsk early this morning and had a look at the market, was told there’s a bigger one in Northallerton so after I’d had a riverside walk I caught the bus (big high-five for bus passes!) and had a walk round that market, bought some single Gloucester cheese, never seen any for sale before, hope it’s tasty! Also some honey.
a leisurely lunch, a chat to a lovely local lady who recommended I check out the old town jail which I did (it’s now partly converted into an eatery) and marvelled at a statue outside commemorating a lass who was jailed for stealing a loaf of bread when just a child. Bus back and a sit in the sun with a cuppa!

What a wonderful day and weather looking good.

Today I’m booked on a walk round the town of Thirsk run by a volunteer, I gues it will be historically informative. It’s free, anyway! (I think this holiday has been a good one in spite of daughters worry but has incurred some expense- but then I can’t take it with me and know that hubs would have wanted me to enjoy it; maybe he’s living it vicariously through me?!)
