It seems I'm a patient now!

But not a very patient one!

I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?

Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that,  plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.

By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.

But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

  • Bit of a chilly pre-breakfast walk this morning….minus 6 out there.

but even a tuft of grass looks good!

  • Pushed myself into doing the cleaning and now sitting on the sofa with after-lunch coffee feeling virtuous!

ye gods it’s still so cold. Daughter in Dubai posted a pic of herself on her balcony in 26°C. Feeling jealous!

  • Well done on doing the cleaning  It’s a bit balmy at 3°c now. Still sunny which is good. x

  • I parted curtains and peeped out of the window just now, it’s so quiet I expected fog but it’s clear. Some cloud but some stars too.

Just hope tomorrow is a bit warmer….or less cold!

  • Today certainly is a bit less cold, but also grey. Still had my walk, though later, back for lunch.

  • It’s definitely milder. Would be nice if there was a bit of sun x

  • A bit of a busy week coming up but only one thing per day, rather than, like last Thursday, 4 or 5 things to think about each day!

Museum tomorrow with a trustee meeting in the afternoon.

  • Pleased with myself already today, a walk done and Goldie-van topped up with Adblue.

Now for a delayed breakfast and then podiatry, followed by optician! Oh I do know how to celebrate, haha!

  • Got home, went to switch tv on for lunchtime news; no Freesat box, completely blank screen! I bought it in 2023 but paid extra for a 6 year warranty, so phoned the company (centre of city near the railway station) and they said if I could unplug and get it to them they’d investigate. So I did; superb service, they didn’t even bother to check beyond not being able to find a replacement (it said they had one in stock but couldn’t find it), they’ve ordered a brand new one to be sent out tomorrow morning by DPD, and have re-started the 6 year warranty! They’ve earned their ‘Which’ recommendation even just by doing that.

So I’ll be watching tv on my phone I guess…..
