Just thinking ladies, as we are all going through much the same journey that we should have a thread on here for crafts. I am sure there are lots of you knitting, crocheting, sewing etc to keep the dreaded side effects at bay and help us cope day to day.
I personally knit and have posted on here some of my knitting. Would be nice to see/hear what other people do. We could share pictures, hints and tips as well
So I will start with a couple of things I have done in the last few days.
This is my slouch hat that I finished on Friday night. Will be wearing it for the first time today!!
This was on the needles saturday night ......
And finished saturday night. A little headband/earwarmer for my granddaughter.
I am now off to have my PICC line inserted ready for 2nd round of chemo tomorrow (!!!!!!):)
Hope to see lots of pics when I come back!!
Have a good day everyone xx
Most of the patterns are by a chap called Alan Dart - he's a very talented designer. He has his own website and sells the patterns as downloads!
Some of his older ones (e.g. Beatrix Potter) were done for knitting magazines and sell on ebay for ridiculous money, so I'm sticking to his more modern ones...
I have about 5 crossstitches that need finishing, but I find them more difficult to do in long sessions - they give me a headache!
I was just cruising around and boy am I glad I found this thread. You are all talented, wonderful people after my own heart!
I love to crochet and have many wips on the go at one time. Mainly because I start a project, then see another and simply have to have a go. Patience is not one of my strengths.
I also dabble in knitting - usually when I have to as it hurts my hands - and cross-stitching. I have been known to do the odd loop rug kit. I'm not great but, as they say, God loves a trier!
I love the knitted knockers idea and, unless there's a crochet version anywhere, I may have to see if I can knock a few up.
As a technophobe, I have no idea how to post up any of my finished projects so I apologise for just being a viewer.
Popped on here and saw your Ditherington-Flyte pheasant and the nurse. They are bleeping amazeballs. Brought a lovely smile to mt face.
Here goes from me for a little lesson in uploading pics. This is from my PC any other machine not a clue
1. Have your pics in a folder on your pc
2, The fifth little screen on the right on this tool bar, Click on that
3. Then you will get an insert/edit media screen
4. Click on Browse and open your folder of pics
5. Click on OPEN to upload in your folder's bar
6. Ideally cut down the dimensions to 300 by 300 or less (mac site not good with big pics)
7. Hit green insert button and the pic should appear that you chose.
8. Pray
9. Curse
10. Try again
Sorry but the site often has blips so don't worry if it all goes pear shaped
look forward to seeing your pics. Weeblemum is very techy.she might have a better instructions.
That was my 2nd attempt

Life is like a boxing match, defeat is declared not when you fall ..... But when you refuse to stand up again ....... So, I get knocked down but I get up again. x
Hi Lovely to see you here.
Please persevere with posting and trying to load pics. The site is playing up right now but once it settles down it'll be fine and everything is pretty easy, even if you're not that skilled with computers.
Now as for knitted knockers, here's the crochet pattern (you'll see it on the list near the top):

I'm not very good at crochet so I've stuck to knitting them so I don't have any tips. I've found that a good quality acrylic yarn works best. Wool can of course be itchy and cotton is comfortable but takes quite a long time to dry. I did buy one cheapie acrylic but the knockers didn't last - they went misshapen after a few washes. Good luck!
Thank you Lynn. (Sorry I don't know how to you in a post)
I'll try tomorrow as it's 3am and I should probably try to get some sleep. I mainly use my phone but will try on my pc.
Thank you for the crochet link and yarn advice. I should have something suitable in my huge yarn collection. I'll let you know how it goes. And maybe even post a pic :)
That should be don't know how to tag you in a post. Must be more tired than I thought!
Hello Frankies Ducky and welcome to the group. I just love your name. I dabble in a few things but my passion is knitting or should I say buying yarn!! I have enough to open my own wool shop.
At the moment I’m knitting dog coats. A friend and I have been do8ng then for a while but now we are madly knitting them plus Christmas things in readiness for a Christmas market in my friends home town in Scotland. The proceeds of which will be donated to the charity. I obviously didn’t think ahead when I volunteered to go up there for the weekend to help that the end of November in Scotland is not the warmest place to be, duh! It will be fun though.
I also crochet and about to embark on stone painting. I also Make tote bags, lavender bags, book covers etc. Nothing too complicated.
Glad to have you aboard.
