Well. Welcome to this thread.
You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.
This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.
It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.
The idea is that you can do any of these or none:
Well here goes.
Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.
Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.
PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.
Wow ....breathtaking!xxyou couldn’t paint it better!!x
That’s amazing Yanyan, what a treat. Well done with your running, I’m sure it must all feel like more effort but it’s great to keep on with it as much as you can.
Heres a pic from yesterday’s walk, have a good day everyone.
I am inspired by these lovely photos and will get back to walks!

I’ve decided to add some running to my walks, any hints, ladies? I would like this to add some bone strength as I’m still at the osteopenia/mild osteoporosis stage so some higher impact stuff would be good. I’ve downloaded ‘couch to 5k’ and will use that to help too. I’ve some good bras, and decent footwear. Also have a wii with running stuff on it so can run on the spot, so to speak, in bad weather.

I am so proud to have walked over 11,000 steps today !!! Walked for an hour with a friend this morning and then this afternoon, my 23 year old son came and fetched me to go for a walk again. Isn’t it wonderful how the simple things can be so wonderful ? Walking and putting the world to rights with my friend this morning and then, chatting with my son about life, the universe and everything this afternoon. I may have a horrible illness but I am surrounded by lovely people. Home to a cup of tea and a log fire !!! And some homemade vegetable soup for my tea later on. Simple pleasures !!
Lovely sunsets ... lovely fields Definitely the simple things in life are the best
Well done on step achievement and runs and walks. I’m still walking, and doing yoga.... plodding on really.

Yoga starts again this evening for me, been walking round our local shopping centre with hubs wheeling today. So I’ve already walked over 2 miles today. It’s a start, this last week I’ve been too busy cleaning, cooking and entertaining to do much formal walking!
