Well. Welcome to this thread.
You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.
This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.
It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.
The idea is that you can do any of these or none:
Well here goes.
Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.
Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.
PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.
Hi all, mix of days of lots of walking and others of not much at all, I blame the heat! Anyhoo, managed Nordic walking workout last week, lots of stretching exercises which seemed to involve muscles I didn’t know I had! Then walk to next town with 2 lovely friends, usual lunch there then back again. Too much chat for many photos but caught up with swan family whose cygnets are pretty much teenagers now! Will try to post photo...
Happy walking/ strolling/ or just relaxing... it’s the weekend after all! HFxx
It’s too hot!
I normally really enjoy a walk of 2-3 miles but it really is too hot to walk today, plus apart from 2 loads of washing to do, hang out (it smells so lovely when dried outside) I picked so many tomatoes (we still have soup in the fridge) I decided to try and make ketchup. It’s now cooked and bottled..... we both tasted it and it’s pretty decent! thanks, BBC Good Food for the suggested recipe, I did vary but I hadn’t all ingredients to hand.
Shattered now! I think for me, today, the title of the thread should be ‘WORKING BACK TO HAPPINESS’!!!!
Hugs xxx

Lovely photos, and HappyFeet1...best to try and make most of this weather while we can....HOWEVER,yesterday I went it for about 25 mins and came home feeling quite poorly, dizzy, headachy, generally bleah. Can I ask, does Letrozole have an effect on us in this heat...?I never used to get like this, altho I don’t really remember it being this hot...
And moomy,I do agree...nothing like the smell of fresh sheets dried in the sun...
This morning I walked to Church and was just walking down the tree-lined path to the front door, when I saw my old Nursing Sister welcoming people in(she is a Deaconess, now)

As soon as I got to the door the bells stopped, and I said,”Am I late?”(old nursing assistants never die...)and she said no,and I wanted to hug her...don’t know whether it was the sun-plashed path, the bells, the beautiful morning,or the sense of having found a lovely Church where I feel I can call “home”....
...here are some photos in the gardens on my walk back home....
Yes, moomy and Violetsniff, too hot, 30.5 here
Went to Tai Chi Thurs, thinking my sniffles due to brick and sawdust,
but flaked out when I got home. Have picked up a nasty virus,
and have been mostly in bed since, very unusual for me,
as I walked all the way through chemos and my other ops.
I think the Universe is telling me to rest, as I didn't after the shingles!
We are both exhausted and treating this bank hol as a rest. xxxx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
Violetsniff, brain not in gear, yes I think Letrozole does have something to do with heat intolerance. Mine came on about a year after starting it. (Cumulative side effects throughout the 9years) I also think it is something to do with my BP medication, and also that I had lymph nodes out on both sides, taking away the sweat glands. No underarm sweat. Well done you, walking to church! Xxx

Thankyou,lovely..for your nice answer....I am sorry that you have been badly affected too. Also hooe you can rest and get better from your virusxx
Every morning I lie in bed and think,”oh,I don’t want to goooooo”,to well, everything, really. But when I get there I am smiling and enjoying it ...whatever it is,be it Creative Writing,Creative Craft, etc etc.
I am afraid I have to walk,as,since I got my Ca,I am on a pension, and can’t afford to run a car.Still....it has made me much fitter and happier walking everywhere, and I see so much more, and usually bump into someone I know.
Apparently I did 4km today...and wasn’t even trying to walk virtuously!!xxx
Violetsniff, lovely photos!
Seaspirit, so sorry you’re feeling poorly, hope you feel better very soon.
Thats an interesting comment about Letrozole making us heat intolerant! I’m certainly struggling this afternoon! Hubs thinks I’m putting it on! However I’m not sure I felt the cold as much last winter.....

seaspirit44 - hope you feel better soon.
This heat is beyond bearable. I am poleaxed too and not sure whether I feel so poorly because of heat or if something else. I have come up to bed as sooo tired. And for the first time have struggled to get up from the bed.
I am not taking Letrozile at moment, cannot cope with that as well, but sympathise with the heat and Letrozole flushes and sweats.
And another day of it tomorrow.. Hope we can all bear it. Try and keep as cool as you all can xxx
Hi folks
My hubby says I feel either sticky or wet when he touches me. I just hate the sweat worms from my head. I was doing my nails tonight, which we all know is very vigorous excersise, There was nothing I could do except drip, or mess my nails up.
Let's all keep our fingers crossed for a bad winter. Although I seem to remember the cold making my shoulder ache after radiotherapy.
Well let's hope the tissue paper duvet helps
Night all
