The operation

So in   5 days time I have the operation to remove the tumour - randomly known as Ian.

Why in the last few days have I become incredibly tired and emotional ??
Did anyone else feel the same?

    That’s the spirit.

I’m binging on pathetic Christmas movies. But Polar Express is for grandson and me to watch. With Miracle on 34th and Love Actually with youngest daughter

Hope they have designed a good return to work plan for you. Well they should have.

Just enjoying coffee - NOT mushroom - and a late lunch. A present to myself  for not murdering anyone in Tesco or M&S.

Present wrapping mmmm. Considering I’ve been organised for weeks I yet to summon up the effort. Must be done.

Neighbours annual Christmas drinks @@@@ up tomorrow night. Plus haircut. So need to build up stamina for that

    Take care

I have seen my surgeon and he is very pleased, all my infection has gone and healing looks good. so all good for chemo to start next Wednesday

Ali that's good news i hope, one in before xmas and time to recover and enjoy the festivities before the next round.

I'v kind of had results, but not fully if that makes sense, i got a very vague outline at my post op appoint, but they were yet to have a big team meeting, after which i may or may not hear if i need anything else. Bcn said if not heard anything in 2 weeks to get in touch so the yes or no could be confirmed rather than me just hanging on wondering, which is what I've been doing last 2 weeks. Lol

Good for you LL, I'm only glad I've done the wrapping now as it means i can relax a bit for next couple of weeks, other than icing the xmas cake i made before i had my appoints that then led to surgery.

  • Hi ladies.

Ali- yep sounds like things moving forward with yoyr chemo. Get it out of way then rest, rest, rest and enjoy christmas.

Jolly - hope you enjoyed a relaxing day. I rarely watch films etc but think once I get used to being off work and learn to relax I'll treat myself to few DVDs/box sets.

Leo - yes definitely rest and get your strength up for the drinks do. Hope the lurgy is on its way out once and for all.

Aiming to carry on  "tuning out" and put worries as far back in mind as they'll go all weekend. I feel really good physically in myself  so don't want that to be dragged down by the mental side of things. Had a brill nights sleep. Had lovely cuddles with hubby early doors (Libby accidentally forgot to wake up early and dive bomb us!) then threw myself into busy day with school runs 2 trips into town...lunch and shopping with parents and tea and shopping with Libby. Went a bit crazy buying new tree decorations etc and a heap of stuff for Libby she doesn't really need ... retail therapy works wonders!

Got in from shopping and declared it Xmas, put the decorations up and stuck fairy lights everywhere...hubby moaning about all sockets being used for lights ha ha.... he's outnumbered when me and Libby do fairy lights we do fairy lights!!

Hope everyone has a relaxing weekend and snow doesn't spoil anybody's plans. Despite being fine after the op I will of course need to stay nice and warm indoors should the words "can we build a snowman?" be spoken. Although a walk in snow would be fun.

  • Good morning

Jammy suggest you are part of the design team for making a snowman. That equals: you stay inside drawing pictures and shouting out the window, higher or lower as to where eyes or noses should be placed.

Sadly had the worst night's sleep in WEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKSSS. Aching everywhere. Not too sure if this is the lurgy or the boob infection, but feel rather fed up.

I'm not wrapping pressies or writing cards until I am in a better humour or otherwise I'll make errors and get frustrated. Also like to do this in a good frame of mind.

Hope the weekend holds rest, fun, love and good things to eat or drink for all you lovelies out there.

    Take care

Jammy, as LL says planning and directing snowman operations from within the boundaries of warm comfy house are a must. I love snow, even though it can make some aspects of day to day life a pain. I even managed sledging in the bad winter of 2010 3 weeks after a knee op. lol Wasn't going to keep me away from the fun, snowman building and boobs are a different matter though so stay warm!

LL - you take it easy, of course cards, wrapping etc can wait until the lurgy has passed and the antibs have done their thing, double whammy of bugs is certainly going to make you feel rather fed up. Rubbish nights sleep won't be helping so get yourself snuggled up and doze the day away.

My exciting news, well for me anyway, is that my knitted knocker arrived today, I'm like a kid at christmas ;-) It's the small things sometimes that mean the most in life, who'd have thought I'd get so emotional and happy over some stuffed wool. It is so much comfier and more 'normal' feeling than the softie( sorry Selema!)

I'll be spending the day getting acquainted with my KK and YS has a tennis thing on later today with Judy Murray so looking forward to that.

Enjoy your weekend as best as you can everyone

    X

That’s top notch a new knocker and a knitted one too. Us ladies know how to party

Little bit of envy that you will get to meet Judy I know she often gets negative press but I do like her.

Get a pic with you KK and Judy.

Leolady still languishing in bed mid afternoon

  • Hi ladies

Mr Sox -Love the rose. Funny as my little girl was trying to draw a multicolored rose earlier and said she is going to have some especially made for me!

Leolady - sorry you are feeling rubbish hope it was the last if lurgy making it's exit and you feel brighter this evening.

Jolly - so pleased your KK arrived it sounds really good. Anything which increases your comfort is brilliant. Hope your son enjoyed meeting JM.

How's everybody else today? Hope you've all had a good day. We on my went out to drip Libby at dance lessons and pick  her up. Put Xmas tree up this aft which ended up being a bit stressful as Libby and hubby lost interest after 5 mins and yours truly ended up doing everything and boob was sore afterwards. Had a  little moan (well a rant!) and repentful hubby sorted tea! Nice evening by the tree watching Strictly. In a moment of weakness have let Libby sleep in our bed as a treat very rare she does and I'll regret it when squashed by her but secretly wanted chance to sneak some extra cuddles. Felt ok today but bit edgy underneath the surface... prob cos hospital still haven't confirmed results appointment....

    Take care xx

  • Hi ladies

Sorry not been here but just had a couple of cr**py days. Sometimes it all just gets to you and it has to come out. Well I’ve done with the snivelling and I’m back in full flow again.

Ali good to hear you’re all clear for your chemo to start, we will all be here for you helping you along the way.

LL sorry to hear you’re still poorly but oh it’s so good to have you back on here.

JG I’m guessing you will be chasing up things on Monday, somebody must know what they are going to do, if anything by now.

Jammy there’s still plenty of time to get an appointment for your results, if it’s not before Christmas then bugger it just have fun and enjoy your time with your family.

I have an announcement, drum roll.......I’ve started my wrapping today ta da!!

Well I did the adults as they take longer with more precise wrapping.

I also have a confession, no drum roll, I was wrapping some Hotel Chocolat choccies and I had a conversation with myself, shall I open them and eat some or shall I wrap them and forget about them. Unfortunately the devil on my right shoulder won and I had 3. They were rhubarb and custard ones, oh my they were nice, probably even nicer because they weren’t mine.

Anyway ladies I hope you all have a good sleep tonight, sending hugs to you all :-D xxxxxxx
