So in   5 days time I have the operation to remove the tumour - randomly known as Ian.

Why in the last few days have I become incredibly tired and emotional ??
Did anyone else feel the same?
  • Jackie - thanks for your support as always. 99% of time I'm in a cancer won't control me mood too. Just had the odd wobble this week as it's first full week off work and it's just when I get in from morning school run to empty house I get bit teary but soon as I get myself going doing jobs etc or seeing people I'm fine.

JG - funny my husband once in a while declares "a day off" from worrying about BC. So bloody good idea in fact if none of us have any appointments tomorrow let's start the weekend here and try and tune out for next few days too. I'm same wrapped most stuff but couple of bigger things in loft will need help with. Sounds like similar day to mine, my friend couldn't come this morning but wasn't too disappointed but on another day I would have been.  I popped into see my other friend who is recovering from hysterectomy on way to school this aft and had a good natter. She's had breast cancer twice so knows a thing or too about boobs bless her!!

Parents taking me out for lunch tomorrow and going to take Libby into town after school to do bit of shopping with her and see Xmas lights etc so should be a nice day.

Leolady - where are you? Hope you are ok and have had a good day my love.

Right one 7 year old demanding tea, must be at least an hour since the snack she needed after school. Oh to be that age she's tall and thin but eats like nobody's business!

Cancer free day tomorrow sounds good to me to Jammy!!! I only allow it a bit if air time in the morning and overnight if it wakes me up but that is it!!

I have a meeting with my manager & HR at 10.00 as on long term sick but after that I promise no cancer talk!!

    Thanks for the suggestion xx

  • T'was JGs idea can't claim the credit but yep jump on good ship "no cancer talk", put in your Xmas jumper and we'll be off....

  • JG You probably won’t see this until Friday as it’s tune out Thursday.

I’m on board so last post for me too, fab idea.

Totally get your dilemma and I would really struggle with my overactive thought process too. Please chase it up and try and get some resolution as to what will happen next, if anything.

Like I said I actually find your situation more stressful than mine, I have an appt, yes it’s cancelled but I’ve got another one and just have to wait, not knowing anything is just not the right way to be treated.

Jammy I know it’s tough when you’re not at work, the days do drag a bit. Christmas coming is probably the saving grace for some of us because at least there’s something going on to distract us.

LL we are missing you lots xxxxxxx

    Hiiiiiii

    Good evening everyone.

The excesses of yesterday; galloping and singing took their toll. I spent a lot of time in bed today reading all your lovely queries as to where is LL. But energy levels were sapped.

I'm ******** annoyed as the lurgy has taken hold again and the infection better but has not fully left. And I'm sure as heck not mentioning Ian's mates.

I'm sat all alone BOO HOO or HURRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAYYYYYY. Hubby has gone to see his dad. But I couldn't possibly go! I'd hate to give someone else the lurgy Already infected future son in law. Bless. Daughter not impressed.

So yesterday. Why me I ask? Why do really daft things happen

    1. Lucky daft thing - found ourselves in that very posh shop and having coffee and cake. It's only once I informed daughter. Unfortunately we did not get charged for the cake. I tried I really tried to pay. Honest

    2. Daughter was shocked I wouldn't buy her a dress. £3,580 for a woolly dress. I mean really Primark here we come.

    3. In church and sat behind us is an AMERICAN lady. Who was on her phone chatting ok. Then she said to person 'I must go, I have just arrived at a friends house.' Well we were rocking with laughter .

Now either she had a direct line to the big man and was calling him her friend or she was lying in church.

    4. Her friend arrives and in describing her day - issues with mobile phone and call centres in other countries and she did not hold back about people's ethnicity - then drops the F BOMB.

Daughter and I further rocking with laughter. Honestly lying and swearing in church. Now I am NO ANGEL, but when in Rome.

    5. First carol starts and they then have a loud conversation. OMG they got one of my best withering looks.

But all in all a lovely day out - if as expected paying for it today

I've started the Christmas cards and youngest and I have a decorating tree / house plan for next week.

Lovely people: Either you run the day or the day runs you.

These quotes are all original I hope you appreciate it.

Take care and as Doris Day would sing 'Que sera sera what ever will be will be, The future's not ours to see.'

And by the way I look nothing like the galloping lady posted earlier. I am more of a Miranda elephant than a Debbie McGee

    Leolady barking cough

PS. My youngest gave me a lesson in be careful on websites and protecting myself from all you lot!!! God bless her x

Dancing around the kitchen whilst rewarming a cottage pie; glass in hand and singing Tubthumping

I GET KNOCKED DOWN BUT I GET UP AGAIN

Think this could be our team anthem. ??????

    What do you all think?

LL wine and meds mmmm interesting combo. Thank goodness nursey daughter went home can't do tutting

Hope everyone is enjoying their' tune out Thursday' or 'forget it Friday' and haven't over indulged in the consumption of vodka/gin/mushroom coffee *delete as applicable

Still no news from me really, have got all the wrapping finished, had a lovely brisk walk to the shop this morning in the cold but bright sunshine, and have binged on another harry potter film whilst doing the wrapping to follow on from yesterday. Shame I'm planning on being back at work on monday otherwise I'd have spent next week watching another one a day to have watched them all back to back chronologically. Escapism at it's very best.

As I wasn't expecting the avengers to be on today as last 2 fridays it's not been on because of the horse racing, I'm now going to binge on yesterdays and todays whilst stuffing my face with choccy biccies.

    Happy Friday everyone!
