  • No no no, that’s not fair and I’m pissed off on your behalf. Rage on it’s got to be done and here is the place.

on the positive side you’ve faced it head on and they will investigate further then see what they are absolutely dealing with and then come up with a plan.
sending you a massive but gentle hug.

  • Owwww Sal  - what can I say, this really is pants and at this time of the year - not that anytime is the right time, just that at Christmas is stays with you.  I know this as many years ago I had results from a smear test showing 'abnormal cells'.  I received the letter from the Doctors two days before Christmas - I could do nothing about it, the surgery was close, the internet was not about and that memory stays with me always .... as I know this will with you.

Like you said you have not long had tests and check up etc so you know this as been picked up quickly and you have responded and the ball is rolling for blood test results, MRI, consulting with previous Hospital Team too - they are working quick and you should have your treatment plan very soon.  It is just pants, total pants.

    Always here for you xx

     - the red dresses are absolutely beautiful and you are right never in a million years would they guess the price.  Years back I would always do this type of shopping going from one shop to another looking for the bargains and also would save up points with the Shell fuel stations - they were linked with Argos - so thought the year the points would add up and then at Christmas I was able to exchange for gifts/presents.

     - I finally got the ice off the underneath of the freezer (I'd left freezer un-plugged in hope this would help and then went to bed..... dreading that 'would my little old freezer work when I turned it back on' - anyways when I woke up I had a look, well a feel as can't see underneath - the ice had melted a little and I was not able to pull the last section of ice off and out.

I too love receiving Christmas cards - again it got silly as I want to send to everyone and anyone that I thought was lonely or that was on their own.  Many years I'd end up putting Christmas cards in the post box or taking to the Post Office on Christmas Eve - well after the last posting date .... arrrghhh - then last year I was so behind I ended up only right about 6 cards to family.

     - What a brilliant thing you did giving the money early - we don't think of this with when people get paid - I can totally understand how the text got to you - it would of me too - because she really did appreciate your gift and to tell you how much it helped was the icing on the (Christmas) cake .....

I'm hoping your cold isn't playing you up too much.

So todays update - we had two food shop deliveries costing way to much and hardly have any food - the price of items has gone up so much. I use to love using Flash Spray Bleach - I would stock up on it after all it was only £1:00 a bottle - I looked online yesterday and its now £2:54!! so that won't be getting bought anytime soon.  Took some of groceries to my mom (mom is now saying she doesn't want me to get her any food as not sure if I'm giving her my old stuff .... the best of it is 'we like totally different foods' so in reality she a) should know I would never do this and b) I can't as I don't have same food (mom loves fish, prawn cocktails, etc - I wouldn't go near it haha).

Anyways I also took mom the 'pop up' Christmas tree that I got her - this was to be an experience as it looks great in photos but what would it really be like ..... I was surprised, it is really good - my only complaint is it has a lot more of the snow sprayed on it than showed in the photo - I mean a lot more (you touch the tree open a branch and the snow falls off - I'm thinking a quick vacuum 'might' fix it.  It did unfold and all the decorations and lights were already on (I'll attach a photo).  I am pleased with it, more so, I am pleased as mom has a nice Christmas tree - saying all the time I don't want one ..... although mom has now told me the said tree as a 'witch' on the top hmmmm - did I get a thank you before I left .... I don't think so (I didn't expect one to be honest).

Came home found out we have yet another puncture in car tyre (this is the third in as many months) all have been 'none' repairable due to location of nail/screw - so off to get repaired tomorrow. Then carried on moving 'things' from living room to kitchen and kitchen to living room; trying so hard to 'get rid'!! arrrrrghhh

Sal you are in all our thoughts and if you can try and follow this - far easier to say than to ....

Right Fruit Loops I'm off to bed - the washing machine as finished and I need sleep xxxx

I'm hoping this makes sense - only my mind says one thing and my fingers type whatever they like x
  • My father wasn't good at working, severe mental health problems. We didn't have much but in those days women were amazing in how they could create meals. Free school dinners etc. what a lovely person you are giving your family money they needed for essentials at Christmas. We had little money for even heating the house but my Mother saved all year to buy Christmas presents. I do have fond memories of this.

  • Well done for removing a little of the ice, It sounds like a job for a trained person maybe.Have you thought about ringing customer support of the make and model(they will want the number).explain difficulties and it may need a simple complete defrost but it’s best to let the experts help…

I love your idea of a pop-up Christmas Tree and your Mom will have been everso grateful really. As far as the snow falling off….well I have started a Christmas installation on the back of my inner door, and the sparkle fell off the Christmas baubles.I did hoover it up but would have preferred to leave it all over the carpet as in a Winter Wonderland….(it IS an arty creation.!)

Hoping you are all well and getting things done…Little Bit by Little Bit.I find making a list helps these days xxx

  •   and you other ladies looking after aging parents.  I have a few friends in or have been in same position and I'm full of admiration for you as I know it's often a thankless task as they seem to take out their frustration on the persons doing the most for them.. I lost my parents in my 20s and my in laws in my 40s so never had thisIi t "problem".  Is it bad I say problem.  I just see friends doing their utmost out of love for them and suffering so much stress in organising care, entertainment etc.  to make their twilight years comfortable.  There should be more support for carers. .

I too loved the red dresses.  I need to go buy a little outfit for my new G nephew but I'm still full of lurgy so I won't buy yet in case I put my germs on it!!!
