  • Just wanted to say…..

    and……

    to the Group!
Sorry to hear you are still feeling sore, following your lumpectomies. Although can’t imagine how uncomfortable it must be having both sides done at the same time! It’s still early days, but definitely mention to the hospital how sore you still are, as they should be able to offer you something for the pain!
What I will say is that the Radiotherapy planning session is easy and really just a chance for them to scan you and work out all their measurements and for you to discuss any worries and concerns, and to ask any questions!
As for how you will cope, YOU JUST WILL! You are doing great Hun! IF you need better pain medication then please ask for it! You don’t get any prises for being ‘brave’!

I hope this helps a little. Just remember you are not alone. You are now officially a Fruit Loop! Together we shall get you through the coming weeks! Feel free to shout, scream, moan or rant about how you really feel. This is one place you are ‘allowed’ to be totally honest about how you REALLY feel.

Sending ((((((Hugs))))) and best wishes your way. Good Luck with your planning session, will be thinking of you. Sal xxxxx

  • Thank you so much ! Already I feel better from becoming a fruit loop ! Seriously , just reading your lovely warm reply made me feel less alone and alienated . Trying to maintain a balance at home . My son is great , my partner is up and down with his support . He seems to need a round of applause for his efforts , not that I see that many to be honest other than him going to work . Oh well , sadly , I’m aware a lot of women have to put up with a lot more than I  do .
    thank you again. Xxx

  • Good morning all......I see  and have been partying throughout the night! Seriously though, I hope you've managed to get back to sleep now.  I don't think they will plan to start your radiotherapy until your breasts are healed. Three weeks isn't very long but make sure you tell them how you feel.

Another beautiful day forecast. Lots of gardening to finish. Yesterday I moved all the pelegomiums nearer to the garage where they spend their winters in case the night tempetatures dip. I replaced them with lavender and pansies which will thrive in the cooler temps and hopefully not need watering. I keep putting off the biggest job.....200 tulip bulbs to go in but perhaps today if I can't find another excuse.

OH suggested going to Cognac to walk by the river again. I could be tempted .....afterall walking is good for us!

Now I shall watch the news and do the washing. That's exciting. Take care all. Love Karen

  • Morning all,

it’s been busy here, nephew and wife are over from USA and have arranged to pop here tomorrow briefly (have warned them about social distancing and masks!), carers took a bit longer than usual, district nurse is popping in to swab as hubs still has a discharge, and I’ve needed to zoom up to the shops! Washing machine has almost finished and I’ve just done and sent meter readings in response to email, phew!

Time for a sit down and a coffee, methinks!

  • Morning ! Say at Guys waiting for my first RT meeting . Hope everyone else’s meetings / days / activities are good , positive and fruitful xxx

  • Hi  welcome to being a fruit loop, you're very welcome here. Hope the meeting went well. I had RT 6 years ago, at Rosemere Preston, I went every day with volunteer drivers and worked at weekend. A strange but not unpleasant period in life. I don't think they will start till you are healing xxxx

sending hugs to you on the sofa, or wherever you are Currently napping. Hope horrible side effects ease off soon xxx

Well my news is utterly boring, in that as well as dropping everything Saturday and going in to work, I got a call Sunday evening when I was in PJ's as the agency nurse had not shown. But I selfishly said No and went to bed and actually slept 11 hours. Poor deputy manager had to do it. Feel awful but I did a night shift last night and have day shifts to do, so tis a case of self protection.

Currently I am blissfully lazy on sofa, cuddles with Guinea Pigs on the menu. Will post the latest Glamour shot of Norman xxx
