I got my wig at Christies but didn't pay forit.it was only afterwards that I discovered a hair and wig salon literally 5 minutes walk from me.she trimmed my wig the best she could but if I had to do it again I would have got her to help me choose a decent one.i now go there for my haircut as she used to work in the wig room at Christies and understands hair loss chemo hair etc and has been brilliant at helping tame my frizzy curls
I don't like my wig either and it cost over ÂŁ200. It is too heavy and uncomfortable. Taking it to my hairdresser on Weds to see if she can do something with it, if not will need to start again from scratch! Still have some hair left due to cold capping but it is thinning and noticeable to me. Shame really, it looked ok in the shop but when I picked it up it looks really obvious it's a wig, not like Jo Jo's. Oh well, we live and learn !

Hi Shey - hope you hairdresser manages to do something for you - ive not told mine yet so have avoided going. Â How are you getting on with the cold cap - im going to give it a go

Come on Ladies everyone will look wonderful, whether they have a wig, a hat, a scarf or decide to go with the bald look. Beauty comes from within!
Also for those who look in the mirror and think theirs looks like a wig, remember to you it will because you know it's a wig, but to those around you, who don't know! The thought of it being a wig would never cross their mind. So please don't worry or spend more and more money on that perfect look that you may never find! I am sure you all look lovely, I mean HOW BAD CAN IT BE.................
If this little one can get away with it, you all can!
Love to you all, Sal xxxxxxx
Hi Ann, I haven't had mastectomy but my lumpectomy was done as a reduction that ended up with a pound and a half of tissue being taken so there is a considerable difference in boob size. The surgeon said my left boob would be reduced after treatments. I was diagnosed incurable stage 4 in spine, after my fist chemo and several of breast care nurses had said that they may not do op on other side now it's incurable, so I empathasize with you completely. Self esteem is very important, my husband has said he will pay privately if nhs won't do mine even though he said all he is bothered about is my health and welfare, people who haven't gone through these things simply do not understand so go for it girl! Â ((((((Massive Hugs coming you way))))))
Well done moderators on removing the stupid reply, but I had to respond to it!!
Thanks above poster for attempting to ruin our Thread with your ridiculous post, but none of us are that silly, FAKE MONEY..........
I DON'T THINK SO!!!
Hello all,
Sal what a lovely comment from you today. YOU are an inspiration to us all. You keep on working and write such amazing, thoughtful posts.
Jo, your wig looks lovely. In my photo I am wearing my wig. I did not wear it very much because I used the cold cap so did not lose all my hair. Looking back, I could have done without it. I used to wear mine with a beanie hat because I thought it was obvious too. It is really funny because even though I used the cold cap, my hair has gone curly!
What was that about someone ruining the thread???
