    Hello all,

Sal what a lovely comment from you today. YOU are an inspiration to us all. You keep on working and write such amazing, thoughtful posts.

    Awwwwwwwwwwww Gay............

Thats so sweet of you to say! I try and be as open and honest as I can. If I can help someone feel less alone and less frightened by typing a short message and adding a hug, then I am more than happy to do so. I believe we ALL have something to offer to someone, whatever stage of the journey we are at! So keep up the good work EVERYONE xxx

Oh and the removed reply was some weird post offering fake money? Interesting!!

  • Have spent quite a few minutes catching up on the last 4 pages of posts! I now feel a bit of an imposter here as.......I have had 4 nights where I have stayed ........ASLEEP! Don't know how I did it. Probably total lack of sleep catching up with me. Long may it last.

Love the cute pictures. LOVE the wig! Love all your positivity! X

I used to walk around like everything was fine, but deep down, inside my shoe, my sock was sliding off.

Now I walk around and everything is  fine.....one day I am going to by new socks with strong elastic......but in the meantime I am learning to stop and and pull my sock up!

  • googlemuma, great to hear from you and even better to hear that you are sleeping........

Okay, maybe I am a little bit! But hopefully one day we will all get a few good nights sleep.......you never know, we can keep hoping xxxxxx

  • Hi All, thanks for being so supportive of my new hair! I do agree with Sal though; your wigs were no doubt lovely and when I look in the mirror this looks far too big and bouncy and to me it is obviously a wig. I don't hate it, but I certainly don't like it. As Sal says, it is because we know that is not what we look like. My hair was long and dead straight and very silver at the front, but was this colour at the back. I have had the wig on all day and I did get used to it, but it feels strange. Most of my hair has gone now and I look really old. I can't help but be really sad. I know it is vain and I know this is a means to an end. I really admire you all for getting through this without all the moaning. x

None of us wanted to be in this group, but we are glad we're not alone.

  • Hi Jo, hmmmmmmmmmm WITHOUT MOANING?? Please don't look back through some of my old posts, because I promise you I have moaned for Britain! Although the lovely people on here always told me it wasn't moaning, but stating the truth!

This site is a safe place to come and say what you are REALLY feeling! No one is going to judge you or put you down, in fact you will always be greeted with support and understanding. So Jo and anyone else new to this..........

Oh I am sure we all moan sometimes Jo I certainly do.sometimes you feel better after a good whinge and then you can get on with what you need to do so feel free to have a good moan if you want and if not let's have a laugh instead.Sal's pictures always make me feel better and all the lovely things people say on here help snap me out of my sad moods.

    Hi Karen,

The cold cap is ok - it does give you 'brain freeze' for the first 10 mins or so but persevere as you get used to the temperature after first half hour or so. The worst bit for me is the tightness of the chin strap which makes hard to eat, (they were all tucking into birthday cake on my first session !). I was advised by onc nurses to take paracetamol in advance to minimise initial headache. It is not obvious, but I have lost some of my hair - I intend to keep going unless it's no longer worth it! Make sure you wrap up warm as it drops your body temp and take a hat for afterwards to cover wet icy hair. Good luck !

    Shey xx

I had the cold cap Karen and like shey I had more problems with the chin strap than the cold.after the first one I had a very painful chin and jaw for days.then I was told to get a silky scarf ,put it under the strap and pull on it now and then to ease the tightness.this helped a lot.just wish someone had told me before my first cold cap!

  • This is for all of you lovely ladies - you are ALL gorgeous. Your compassion, and sheer grit!, is an inspiration and a joy!!

    Sweet dreams

    xx

  • At which point I'll probably be wide awake! Today has NOT been a good day! Tried taking my Venlafaxine in the morning and have been having hot flushes/sweats all afternoon/evening :-( Reaching a point where I just don't know what to do for the best! Having a little cry, because sometimes life just feels a little bit cr*p! But tomorrow is a new day! Night All xxxx
