  • Hi Sal, it's not good that they cancelled, but the fact that it made way for your scan is a bonus. Good luck and let us know how you get on and when you will get the results. Try to sleep well tonight, xxxx.

None of us wanted to be in this group, but we are glad we're not alone.

Diagnosis 2/8/17 IDC Her2+, 22mm, with spread to several lymph nodes. TCHP chemo started 23/8/17, Mx with immediate, temp recon 24/1/18, rads 20/3 to 10/4/18, Herceptin by IV until Nov 18. RR Mx Jan 23. Still waiting for reconstruction, but opting for simple implants, as opposed to Diep, due to long waiting lists for diep.

  • Grrr LL, what a frustrating day!

As others had said annoying in one sense but at least you can get the ct scan done. And sounds good about the hot flushes and sleep, hope it stays that way.

    This could be us lot:

  • I know the appointment being cancelled was a good thing in the sense that I was able to agree to the scan! But in all honesty I think I would of preferred to get the teeth sorted first! But that's life! At least I don't have too long to stress about the scan! Although......

    has already set in!!

Hopefully I shall sleep okay tonight! Fingers crossed!! Thanks for all the support xxx

  • Sorry Jo, always tough even though you know it's going to happen!

Nothing we can say or do will make you feel better. So instead I will send a great big hug, just to remind you we all understand and that we've all been there and come out the other side! You cry if you need to, then just remember why this is happening! You are going through this to hopefully get a long life with your family and friends.

You WILL get through this Hun! PROMISE! xxxx

  • DON'T PANIC PEOPLE.............

Took ages to drop off then woke approx an hour later! So I think the Venlafaxine might be the culprit when it comes to not sleeping properly! I think I will now start to lower my dose and see what happens with the hot flushes!

Anyway time to try to get a bit more sleep! Thanks again for listening to my moaning, without somewhere like this to offload, I think I would  of given up on everything a long time ago! But you have all helped me realise that whatever is thrown at us, together we can get through it! Xxxxxxxx

  • Hi Londonlass

This may or may not be helpful, but I was on Venlafaxine a few years ago for depression and I became so Manic!

Couldn't stop talking and became very outspoken, cringe when I look back as am usually quite shy and introverted

Had just come out of 25 yr marriage, left family home, chucked in job and lost mother and come out as gay!

It was a positive tsunami- all within 2 months

Anyway I had to come off it - don't think I slept as was so keyed up

So it could be that causing your insomnia, it was way more powerful than any other anti-depressant I'd been on, and that's quite a few

Stable now on citalopram, sleep like a baby, except tonight cos I've had a large dose of steroids

I know you're not on it for depression, but it probably has the same effect- think I was on 75mg, maybe 150mg will have to look it up

    Hope you get it sorted

and and thank you for your unfailing kindness and help on this forum xxx

  • Phaedra,

i appreciate you taking the time to reply! Last night was a night of disrupted sleep, so I really am thinking its down to the Venlafaxine and I did see insomnia was one of the side effects, although can't believe one of the nurses didn't spot that! Although I suppose they are trying to sort the whole issue which origionally was the hot flushes! Can't win!!

I actuallwrote this pits around 4am bug dudn't press. Post!  WHOOPS!

  • Thanks, there must be something else you can try instead.

Are the flushes because the drugs force you into menopause?

I went through it at around 46 and I have to say the following years are much calmer without all those hormone fluctuations and pms

I'd attach a picture but don't know how, and after barely3hours sleep better not attempt anything..

Ps have just re-read my last post- all those major life changes happened before I started venlafaxine, not as a result of! Thought I'd better point that out!

Hope something gets sorted soon xxx

  • Hi Phaedra, you need to swap to the old editor to add images. You will then get the screen below and need to click on the box marked with the arrow. We do love our pics! Lol, xxx
