So sorry about Marmalade toxophilite xx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
Well hopefully the welfare officer will be able to express things much better then me. With everything that’s been happening lately my Mum and Dad are very much hoping i get awarded it. I am filling in the paperwork tomorrow then depending on what time we get finished i will post it off tomorrow or it will be next week because i am out most of the day Friday for my friends funeral and wake and its not going anywhere Saturday so i coukd send it monday and they would get well within tge time. Then i wait for an assessment for whenever which i hope doesn’t clash with anything as i have few appointments and other things going on in November. It would be a lovely Christmas if i het awarded it.
Oh GBear I hope you do get it and also that you are holding up on.
toxophilite I am so sorry to hear about Marmalade, I hope he is ok. I have had cats all my life but lost my last one in May. Another reason the house is empty. I miss their presence, they are such welcome and loving little beings.
I hope everyone manages some decent sleep.
Sweet dreams and strength for all your tomorrows.
xx
Hi Karen (toxophilite) Really sorry to hear that Marmalade is so unwell. I've been an animal lover all my life and have had 2 dogs that have been put to sleep over the years! I can remember both of them in their last few days. They struggled on and wagged their tails and really wanted to please us because that's what dogs do! However when I/we looked in their eyes we could see the pain they were in! At which point you have to make that awful decision that no one wants to make! But you do it knowing you have their best interests at heart! I believe we all know when the time is right for our fur babies! We hold them we tell them we love them and we thank them for all the uncondiontinal love they have given to us! They don't ask for much, but they all need us to do what's right, when the time comes!
You listen to the vet, take their advice. While also considering what's best for your Marmalade! Only you know what's best. Sometimes admitting enough is enough is NOT giving up on your fur baby but doing the kindest thing for them!
Whatever happens over the coming days you will do what's right. You have a heart of gold and are stronger than you think. We will all be here for you, praying for a positive outcome but ready to support you if you need to make the toughest decision any of us have to make!
Enjoy some snuggles and look after yourself. Love you Hun. Xxxxxxxx
GBear, Good Luck with the form filling! A certain little chap has decided he'd like to come and help.........
He thought it would be a change from hospital appointments. I hope he doesn't get in the way! Xxxx
Night night all! Hope you all sleep well xxxx
Oww dearest toxophilite, I feel for you so very much, I really do.
I'm not sure if I posted this before, my cat became ill literally went to sleep, then when I called him he didn't want to move and was sleepy, I could tell from his eyes something was wrong. This was about 4 days before Christmas, just when you don't need it, mind you we don't want them poorly at any time. We went to the vets, was told he was very dehydrated and needed to go on fluids (a drip) and also needed to have an ultra sound. Ultra sound showed up some kind of problem in his pancreas (I think). Treatment was 'fluids' via. drip for 24 hours day and night for 2 days then slowly re-introduce food.
Well, my cat went from been so unwell and if we hadn't taken for treatment (fluids was the vital part, as kidneys were compromised) we would of lost him. The vet advised that we add a small amount of water to the cats food, to help get more fluids in, I had said, I rarely see my cats drink, I still do this. We think it was a type of fur ball/fur that had built up. I nearly didn't take him to the vet, hubby was saying 'he's fine, he's old, leave him alone'.
I think you just know, I trusted my instinct and knew he heeded to go to the vets, thank goodness he is still here - I will say, he was none to happy when he was feeling better he noticed all his side was shaved too from the ultra sound.
I think what I am trying to say, is give Marmalade every chance possible, could his kidneys be not functioning due to lack of fluids, whilst they aren't well they tend not to want to eat or drink, trust your instincts and maybe give him time, once you get better answers you will be in a better place to think. Sometimes it is harder for us looking at them than what they are feeling. After all think how many days, he is well, if could be just an off few days, something he's eat having an effect. Ask the vets if he should be on a drip to get fluids into him to help his kidneys.
Sending both You and Marmalade Prayers and strength to get through this, along with love and hugs xxx
My Day Off and I'm awake! Life is just so cruel! Actually been awake since 3.45 which wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact I wasn't asleep until 2.30ish!! It's going to be a long day! Xxxxx
LP is very welcome thank you LondonLass, i am sure he will enjoy a different environment from all the hospitals his been too.
Hi Sal LondonLass. Lack of sleep is horrible!!!! I sympathise.
I have sleep apnea so never feel refreshed when I wake up Last time I felt really awake was when I came round following an eye operation in hospital.
So, I’m wondering if I should look into oxygen therapy eg Hyperbaric Oxygen chamber ?
. Do you know about Oxygen therapy please?
Best wishes to everyone
