Hi All

Can I have some feedback please?

For the past couple of years since diagnosis of BC I have endeavoured to 'clean up my act' on lotions and potions.  I started using Bionsen once I found out about all the aluminium that goes into other deodorants.  I am now at the point that I sometimes have to put on Bionsen twice a day - my armpits become a bit stinky!

In the early days it wasn't like this and I 'think' this is as a result of getting rid of the aluminium, which is designed to clog the pores, being totally cleared from my armpits.  It's not critical I know and I can put on more Bionsen, but I would like to know if other ladies also experience this?  I've never been a stinky armpit person throughout my life but it is beginning to bother me a bit.

Look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Chloecat

I never got on with Bioson. I only bought one can. It didn't do much for me in terms of deodorising and I hated the smell. I found a lovely spray on by Weleda. I use the sage fragrance. You can get it in Waitrose's

i think it's good to mix and match sometimes as your body does get use to products.

    Hi Crystaljuju

Thanks for the response.  Do alternate on my shampoos for my hair as I do know that you can end up with residues making you hair tired and flat.  Seems silly not to have thought this across the board with my other personal products.  Sometimes we just need a little nudge to get us moving in the right direction.  Well done for bringing this to my attention and will get organised on this.

    Hi Chloecat,

I stopped using my usual roll on deodorant when I was diagnosed in Nov 2013.

Following the WLE, I just carefully washed the area with mild soap for about 6 months and yes it was smelly.

I changed to a more natural roll on deodorant made by the company Green People which comes  In unscented, Rosemary, & Aloe Vera ( my favourite). It is sold in Health Stores & Waitrose and online. This is the  deodorant I use under both arm pits now and it has a pleasant smell & is gentle on the skin. Judith xx

The Green People range sounds great but if you look at the ingredients in all their deodorants, the second highest is Potassium Alum (Natural Mineral), which is also known as Potassium Aluminium Sulphate ie Aluminium!!

Just because something can be natural, doesn't mean it is safe. Think of plant poisons.

I should have added that I still use an Aluminium based deodorant (I did try the Crystal one too), as I'm a very smelly person!

    Hi JJtoo,

Noooooooh, :-O !!!  Is there a safe one out there please?

I was under the impression that rock / crystal salts were not good, but maybe that was to do with the Radiotherapy sessions?  Thanks Judith xx

    Hi  JJtoo,

Do you think the Weleda range is safer to use please? Thanks Judith xx
