Hello everyone, is a score of 28 high ? I have had a little bit of a problem with finding Bright red blood in my stool just a little bit very sparse .
I did a fit test on a stool that I had straining with and it had a little blood on it would this effect the score ? . Does a fit test pick up visible blood has well has occult blood ?
I am having a colonoscopy next week .
Glad you got all clear I had mine yesterday but unfortunately I need to have it repeated as I was in a clinic and she didn’t feel safe removing my polyps as they were large and close together I had two in total 15mm so on waiting list for hospital appointment. She did diagnose me with diverticulitis disease so I’m hopeful the blood clots are from that and not the polyps fingers crossed
Hi june
can you share what was the result of your colonoscopy? I have 144
Hi Saad777b4328c Hope you don’t mind me jumping in but this is quite an old post and I don’t know if June is still active on the board?
It’s hard to speculate the outcome from the FIT test alone - I have seen lower readings confirmed as bowel cancer and much higher readings not. The reading confirms that there has been blood found in your sample but this could be caused by diverticulitis, colitis, ibs, polyps?
Only 1 in 10 colonoscopies results in a bowel cancer diagnosis but the important thing is to get checked out. Hopefully you’ll get an appointment through soon and please let us know how you get on?
Take care

Did you have a blood in loose stool?
i had my polyps removed and that were benign, but I am still have semi solid stool not watery, they said its all about diet.
for how long have you been with loose stool? Is is watery or semi solid like toothpaste?
I've only noticed blood which was on the paper once ever which was a few weeks ago.
I have always had loose stools for years and years but they seem to be more loose in the last 6 months.
Didnt know if it was encouraging to have a neg fit test 3 months ago and it just being 20 this time.
Do not worry about the FIT test, bowel cancer cannot be detected with FIT test, if you have polyps they do histology on it and then let you know of they were benign or malignant.
when you say loose stool, you mean watery or semi solid?
Did you do any IBS test too?
Mainly semi solid and messy.
Its the fit test result thats sent me to the colonospy though
Dont worry, its a first step to do.
you should be fine. Let us know the uodate please whatever it is.
