Don’t feel you have to stay positive just because people tell you or you feel that is the right thing to do.Sometimes you can put more pressure on yourself trying to stay upbeat.It’s ok to not be ok.There are so many emotions on being diagnosed.I found I was playing out all these different scenarios in my head.The best advice I got from here was take it one step at a time and stay off Dr Google.A lot depends on your personality too.I like to know exactly what I am dealing with and get on with it.Uncertainty makes me anxious.I tried to keep as busy as possible waiting for results as I found this time was the worst.You will cope,there may be a few wibbles and down days but you will get plenty of support here.Love Jane xx

Even though I could see this pink thing on the screen, how was I to know that's what cancer looks like 

When I had the camera in I was on my own and the doctor was quite matter of fact, I was so stunned, I was not expecting it at all, he said he thought it was higher rather than lower and all that would happen but I hardly took it in. I don't think he asked if I had anyone with me, I came out and broke down outside the hospital a bit while ringing my husband then I had a 30 minute drive home. I felt like I had been hit with a sledge hammer, so not expecting it.

I was also on my own. I then got a taxi home and the poor taxi driver asked if I was ok. He won’t be asking anyone again in a hurry
