I have just been diagnosed and I am waiting for an operation date
Most of the posts on here are about or from men
I would love to hear from women who have had treatment
I had to be showered by the nurses so they also washed my hair, but I was too weak after my particular surgery to do anything for myself. I had to be on a chair in the shower as I wasn’t able to be standing. Gosh-that’s brought back some memories!

Yes I’ve got a long charger cable as I found I needed one in my last hospital stay. I have an awful phobia of being sick and really worried about that bit how soon after the op are you able to shower? I’ve got some lip balm and body lotion etc, thank you. How long did you stay in the hospital? Xxx
It’s important to say I had a very different and much more extensive surgery, of which bladder removal was just one part, so your experience will be different and won’t necessarily mean you would be sick. You would also be likely to shower much sooner than I was able to and be in hospital for a sorter period as I was in for 2 weeks. Sorry, don’t want to add any confusion here, Jane already knows that I had a total pelvic exenteration but I forget that not everyone does know!

Next week will be my 3 year anniversary from my surgery
