I have just been diagnosed and I am waiting for an operation date
Most of the posts on here are about or from men
I would love to hear from women who have had treatment
It was around 6 hours I think Jane. I had an epidural before my main anaesthetic which took ages to administer which held the start up, which was late morning, and I woke up in hdu in the evening. All a bit hazy. My 3 surgeons worked in tandem, like a tag team as it was described by my main surgeon and were very efficient!

No, mine is not the type of surgery to be done like that, so everyone had to get their hands in!

My was open abdominal surgery, as an exenteration is not something that can be done laparoscopically. There is a lot to be removed in this op. Not a large wound at all though. I can hardly even see my scar which runs from my belly button to my pubic bone, it is very neat!

It was a very tough surgery, but remember your surgery is not going to be anything like that.

Gosh that's quick, but as you say better to get it done as soon as possible
I feel sick for you and its not me having it done, I cant imagine how you are feeling

I wish you all the luck in the world that it all goes well and you recover quickly and no sickness
