Had a TURBT four months ago with 4cm tumor removed followed up by a six week course of mytomycin followed up three months later with a TURBT under a general anaesthetic when they found a new growth the size of a pea however they burned it off during the check up.  Released from hospital later that day with a follow up in three months time.

What have other people's experiences been like?

  • Hi and welcome to the group. Good to know you are doing OK and they are looking after you. Sorry to hear you have had a slight recurrence, but it has been dealt with. We know this thing has a habit of coming back. My personal experience was a few years ago with muscle invasive. So far doing well and still being looked after. Feel free to join in any other conversations with your experience. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • HI RN Stoker, I've had recurrence since 2012, I usually have 2 TURBT's a year.  I've had MMC same as you but had an allergic reaction so I never had any more treatment until this year.  I had 6 x Epirubicin which sort of worked as there was only 1 tiny tumour, rather than many clusters. All the best x

  • Hi Stoker

I'm a bit behind you, although they've been messing around with waiting lists since March.. I had my TURBT last Thursday with an 8cm lass removed. I have most of the bladder thickened according to a CT scan. I will get to hear my prognosis in 2 weeks.
