Hello all lovely people. Just a brief update. I’ve had a robotic RC with ileal conduit 8 days ago by a wonderful surgeon and his team. So far so good. Home now and recovering slowly though very weak. Taking it very easy but each day feels slight better. Thanks all so much for your invaluable advice and support so far. Without this forum this journey would’ve been incredibly hard. X

  • Hi Angela. I’ve just completed Call of duty Modern warfare. Now playing Dead Space. It is a good way to pass time. What sort of games do you play??

  • I used to play COD back in the day, modern warfare 2 loved it. Played alot of Battlefield favourite being 3 , my constant go to is always Halo. I dont do multiplayer anymore though , mostly like playing the campaign stories. It is a good way to pass the time . It was my me time .

    Much love Angela x

  • Halo is a good game. I have played it in the past. Dead space is a bit scary and difficult but I’m getting better!!! Today I’m planning to accompany my wife for some grocery shopping, first time after my surgery. Hope I don’t feel too tired or weak!!! Best wishes. X

  • wow hopeful, that sounds like it would be a big achievement. Obvs you wont be lifting anything but non the less its quite something. I dont know how others on the forum have marked their milestones following RC, perhaps they will let us know. I hope you manage it, but if you dont then remember , its easy does it, you have lots of time. Good luck to you.

Btw the Battlefield game & campaign imho is better graphics, movement of soldier and multiplayer, but i dont supose anyone plays it anymore :(

  • I like playing video games (PS4) but I'm pretty rubbish at them! Used to play a lot of PC games in Win 98 days. Tend to go for story based or puzzle games - have loads on the go at once. Annoying when I know what to do, but just can't seem to manipulate the controls to make it happen!

  • Well done  they let you out early so you must be doing well. I started short walks as soon as I got out and kept pottering about at home. Otherwise I read a lot, listened to music and made myself do the exercises they gave me in the hospital. My game is spider solitaire but v tame, but I had to put a timer on my phone to move every half hour - I'd had blood clots which delayed the op and didn't want any more.

    Good luck

  • The “move “ timer /alarm on the phone is a brilliant idea. It is easy to not realise how long you have been sat in the one position.

  • Hiya all,

Sorry just jumping in on the gaming comments lol ( don't like interrupting but bit of a gamer and couldn't help myself lol... Or at least was)..

Used to love all the COD, Modern warfare, halo, Battlefield games... Wasn't very good mind at the multi player modes... But used to have a good time getting shot.. lol.

Still have an Xbox and PS4, but not invested in the latest ones as I don't really play that much ATM.

I got into a MMORPG game called RuneScape. Hard to explain but loved it.

Last game I really enjoyed was Red Dead Redemption.. absolutely amazed me how detailed it was and the game play was amazing...

Makes me want to pick up the controller again.

Keep safe all and take care.

Enjoy your weekends whatever you are up to.

  • Hi Trevor, my lad used to play Runescape , he was really into free roaming, quests and building stuff. Progressed to a game called Skyrim dont know if you know it. The graphics and gameplay these days is astonishing . I have taken him to a few Gamefests in the past , some great memories of trying to fit a life size cardboard cut out of Halo Masterchief in the back of my car with 3 teenage lads crammed in for a 90 minute trip lol.

  • Hiya Angela,

Yeah heard of Skyrim but never played. RuneScape was very time consuming so didn't really get into another similar type of game again. Loved it through at the time.

My son plays abit and watched him play these story type quest games.

Yeah the graphics etc are crazy these days... I was blown away with RDR and the amount of content in that game, I can't believe it's possible lol and that's an old game now.

Never been to a ganefest but sounds like you had a fantastic time with your kids.. although not sure about the journey lol.
