A bit of light relief while we are on this cancer journey, evoking memories, joys , passion and funny stories. Its all here from prog rock, to punk rock and everything in between. Hope you book mark it and join in. Music can be a huge comfort in times of distress . It can also make you dance around the kitchen when no one is watching ! Add your stories. Recently chatted about Mr Halofan attending a YES concert, and it was really uplifting.
I saw Wings at Southampton Gaumont in the late seventies, but also confess to Alvin Stardust, the glitter band and bay city rollers in the mid seventies lol!! As I said previously I redeemed myself with seeing my fav David Bowie in 1987
Did anyone on here ever see Kate Bush? Another favourite of mine

I once met ….. Elvis Costello my first ever gig. The boy i was with had a back stage pass !!
also sat on the steps of the hacienda having a pint with singer of OMD . I think that lasted about 3 minutes hahaha., sat near shane Mcgowan at finsbury park gig. Saw hundreds of live gigs , but rarely got to meet famous people.

Redemption achieved Annie , I am a big Bowie fan. Never saw kate bush sadly, would have liked to, she was super talented. Have you seen the annual kate bush gatherings , where everyone dresses up as her and they all mime to wuthering heights! Its fantastic

Yes I have! my daughter bought me the Bowie pinups vinyl for Christmas after I told her I took it to a party in my teens (as we did) and someone else took it home! my favourite album though is Hunky Dory, I loved his Ziggy era and had my hair cut just like it and used to put food colouring in my hair, which looked great until I started to sweat in the club and it began to run down my face lol
I went to the V&A David Bowie Is exhibition a few years ago, was amazing to see all his handwritten notes and stage costumes.
Lovely to reminisce on here

Not a musician but I once collided with Dame Judy Dench at a book fair.We were back to back at the time and I heard a familiar voice say I’m so sorry and thought that sounds like Judy Dench.I apologised at the same time and turned round and there she was smiling at me.We both apologised again smiled and off she went to join her daughter and grandson.
How lovely of your daughter. One of my sons friends is a huge bowie fan and he is only 24 ! My son thinks he is a legend but he is more into hip hop. I have fond memories of seeing him at Milton Keynes in the late 70,s and when he came on stage my daft friend feinted. I was not a loyal friend and we quickly passed her to the end of the line ! She did forgive me and said she would have done the same lol ! Great memories
