Hi All. How is everyone doing? Anyone stuck indoors? Remember, this is a support group, and things don't always need to be medical. There is usually someone here if you just want a chat, a moan, or any stories. My wife has been stocking up on paint, so guess what I will be doing in the near future. Best wishes.

  • Hi jane hopefully the stress is over for you now, the past few  months have been difficult for you lets hope 2026 is a good year for you have a happy xmas sending much love to you and all the lovely people on this forum Phil xx

  • Well done for getting through all that. You certainly deserve a rest and time to gather yourself now. Please take it easy for a while and look forward to a new year and a new exciting future in your new home.

I hope the purchase goes smoothly and moving in can be a more relaxed experience. But for the moment, it's Christmas and you are on holiday in a nice, unfamiliar place. Time to cosset yourself and have some mince pies while you relax. You can worry about phase 2 later.

All the best (and Merry Christmas)

  • Thanks Ray,My Teddy was my first Christmas present from my great aunt Gladys.I saw her shortly before her death aged 90 and she was delighted I still had him.I crashed out and slept for a few hours last night I was so tired.I woke up at half 5 my back aches and I’m covered in bruises but I’m looking forward to being settled.I hope the move to the new house goes smoothly.A less stressful life would be good.I have plenty of ideas for the new home and garden.I didn’t explore the back garden fully so that will be interesting. It’s a much more manageable size.I will miss the old garden though.Perhaps I can create the same atmosphere in the new one.I hope my neighbours will be nice.I’ll have to get used to having neighbours on both sides as I was in a semi detached before.I like to think I’m a good neighbour I’ve been told I am.love Jane x

  • Hi H,I have my dad’s old toy dog Bruce who is over 90.He is not in a terribly good state as he was my favourite toy when I was young.Dad him from 18 months old. There are old photos of me holding Bruce or a knitted Dalmatian called Spotty. They did build things to last.It annoys me that we have become such a throw away society.X

  • Thanks Phil,Yes I hope 2026 will be better.I hope you have a lovely Christmas.Love Jane xx

  • Thanks Latestart,It’s so quiet here and that is what I need.I saw this place on line and nearly booked it.My sister offered to make some calls/look for accommodation for me and mentioned they had a rare vacancy here so she reserved it in my name.I hope you have a good Christmas.Love Jane xx

  • Sorry, I've been unable to log in for a few days - missed all the drama! So glad to hear you're under way. Hope your new house is available sooner than expected, so you can soon get settled in. Our neighbours across the road have just moved - had to hire a taxi at the last minute to take the final boxes!

Rest up with Teddy in the meantime. Mine sits on my chest of drawers - must be at least 70 years old. Rather threadbare as apparently I used to chew the fur off...

  • Thanks Teasswill,More disasters today but my aunt has come to my rescue with one of them. It’s terrible what extreme stress can do to the memory.Had two baskets under the lounge table and needed info from notebooks in one,I managed to pack the wrong basket. The one I need is now in one of 5 storage containers.X

  • The removal men taking the people we bought from , from Northern Derbyshire to Oxfordshire, let them down and didn't take everything. They put the remainder in the garage and kept the key to that for an extra day or two, then a neighbour he used to play golf with came round with the garage key when it was gone. It didn't really cause us much bother, and we certainly didn't blame them.

  • I don’t think my buyers father was pleased about the situation. It was unfortunate Sarah couldn’t help as I’m sure I would have been out on time if she had been there. The removal men were helpful and hard working a bit like the house clearance firm I got in after mum died.Roll on 2026 it has to be better than this year.x
