Hi All. How is everyone doing? Anyone stuck indoors? Remember, this is a support group, and things don't always need to be medical. There is usually someone here if you just want a chat, a moan, or any stories. My wife has been stocking up on paint, so guess what I will be doing in the near future. Best wishes.
Hi Trevor,It was a disaster but not in terms of the removal men. They were great. My sister didn’t get over and I ran out of boxes and bags. The new owner still has half a room of my stuff there but I will take it off her hands as soon as I’m able.John’s car is full of my stuff and other things we can’t’ find.I’m now at a self catering place where my 65 year old Teddy is making himself at home.Xx
Well I hope you're having a home delivery of food. This is not the time to cope with an unknown kitchen. Personally I suspect I'd be knocking back a large glass of wine before passing out in bed. Phew. You've done the worst bit now Jane...well done! xxx
Hi H,I wasn’t that hungry so John got me some fries on the way over and I’ve got a few provisions with me.It was all so stressful having to leave things behind and I kept crying on the phone to the agents and solicitors.I’m sure they must think I’m totally mad but they have all been kind and helpful which has made it easier.I did a very stressful job and hardly ever felt stressed but being out of my depth and having no control has been horrible.John has been a star he brought round an extra vacuum and did some cleaning before Amy moved in.It’s so quiet here I hope to sleep well. It’s been a long day.xx
Oh I wish I could hug you Jane, its sounds like you have had a very stressful and upsetting day. Its lovely to hear that people have been kind , and I am sure Amy will understand your predicament. I hope you have your feet up with a cup of tea ( or something stronger ) letting the tellybox entertain you. Sending you love, sleep well x
Much love Angela x
It has been a bad day Angela but it couldn’t be helped. My sister was upset not to be helping. She paid extra for the mechanic to come over first thing and fix the starter motor and he never showed up then. When he did turn up he couldn’t get the parts until the afternoon.I was supposed to be out of the house at 1 and was still there at 3.30.It was a big ask to have 16 days to clear a 4 floor house mostly on my own.I did have most of it boxed up in time.Top marks to the removal firm I will be writing a good review. It’s cost much more than expected because of needing extra storage. Will have a few quiet days now to recover from all the stress.love Jane xxx
Good heavens Jane, you have had months of increasing stress, then today's affairs have piled on yet more. Needing to curl up in a corner under a tartan rug with your Teddy is completely understandable. Full marks for surviving the ordeal. My 75 year old Teddy sends his warmest regards and best wishes. He used to have a wind-up musical movement inside but my mother used her nursing skill to perform a musicboxectomy when it started to rust - I was about 4 at the time. After a tense few days he pulled through and has been with me ever since. I'm sure we will all do our best to offer words of support to help you into your new house soon. Not long to wait until Spring breaks, bringing with it a new garden to spruce up to your taste. Ray x
My teddy is 73. He’s gone rather floppy and lost a bit of fur but still sitting on my bedroom window ledge. Seems like they made them to last in those days. x
