Hi All. How is everyone doing? Anyone stuck indoors? Remember, this is a support group, and things don't always need to be medical. There is usually someone here if you just want a chat, a moan, or any stories. My wife has been stocking up on paint, so guess what I will be doing in the near future. Best wishes.

  • Hi “anything you like” / Si, how’s it going!?

  • Big deep breaths Jane, we’d all be bored if everything was sorted and we could relax and enjoy life!! X

  • All good currently after finally having the stent removed, and that was an ordeal I won't forget in a hurry Joy

    Thanks for asking.

  • Hi Si, what’s been going on? Stent? I’m a bit of a newbie here, only been dealing with BC since Feb so not up to speed on all the procedures. Aren’t they normally for your ticker?

  • Hi Robbo,My mum always had a plan for her stuff but nothing got done.My uncle would phone and say he was bringing some item on his next visit and mum never turned down anything. After her brain haemorrhage when I took over the running of the house I put a stop to it.There were items belonging to 8 people when I began the house clearance and there were only 3 of us ! That’s why it’s taken so long.I’ve only got mum’s research notes left to sort and most of those will be going to the record office.I’m glad I had a chat with mum about some of the things before her dementia got really bad.I found out where she wanted items to go and that did help.Good luck with your mum’s house.Love Jane x

  • Hi Robbo, yes stent are used for heart attacks but also used for urinary tracts aka ureters to allow your kidney to drain into your bladder properly.

I had to have a stent fitted in my left kidney due to my tumour being over my left ureteric orifice and they had to resect that area, so the stent I guess allows the area to heal without the hole healing up. Which obviously would be bad.

I have to have my second cystoscopy to have the stent removed and it was even worse than the first one, I just cannot cope with having the cystoscopy for sure now, it was bad enough the first time but second time was even worse by miles. So they are going to have to sedate me for the next camera check in 3 months.

And every time after that, I know it doesn't last long but I literally cannot cope with it and they even said that after the procedure and that some people handle it better and others not so well. And I'm in the no so well camo at all and can't keep putting myself through that without some form of sedation to get through it.

So yeah I'm a big wimp, I was fine until they started and then my whole body tenses up being belief, I was sweating like mad, feeling dizzy and holding my breath, I just find it so uncomfortable and painful it seems.

Hence why I was feeling much better than Monday. I thought the second time it might be easier to deal with but turns out that was pie in sky on my case.
