Thanks to the NHS my RC is now successfully done.the staff and treatment have been wonderful . Surgery lasted 6 hours. And 3 hours after that I was awake. It was done using the latest robotic machine. I am in no pain at the moment in ICU. Thanks to you all on this wonderful forum,  And special 1:1 support you know who you are.

Thanks again.

Leo

  • Well done Leo, really pleased for you and it’s inspiring how positive you are post surgery and for the courage to have the RC… I’m G3 and CIS, finished BCG number 9 and Biopsy November 25th and I am absolutely dreading results so it’s great to hear how well you are doing… best wishes for your ongoing recovery

    Thanks

  • Hi Leo. Great to hear that all went well. Just take it easy and hopefully all will go very smoothly for you. Remember 3rd post op day can be a bit emotional but after that onwards and upwards. Best wishes.

  • Hopeful, thanks for the reminder, Day 1 = no sleep. Day 2 managed some walking caught up on sleep. Feeling a bit better today even though I have a temperature. 1st walk done at 0630. I suspect guts may be a challenge

  • Hi Leo. It’s quite normal not to sleep much on the first night. High temperature at this stage could be just a response to a major surgery but they’ll keep an eye on it. Keep chewing the gum and try to walk a little, it will help with bowel movement. Bowel action will be erratic for some time. Good luck!!

  • Cheers Hopeful, feeling much better today done a lot of walking and out of theatre gown in my own clothes. Feels better. Leo

  • Well done Leo, lovely to see you are up and moving around keep up the good work. Lynn x

  • Hi Leo,I’m glad you are feeling better today.Putting on your own clothes does help even if you are not feeling great.Love Jane xx

  • Wow Leo, its great to hear your progress, dont push yourself too hard now, take your time to recover at your pace. sending you love and positivity, well done you x

    Much love Angela x

  • Angela, you know me too well. I am measuring my efforts carefully however so I don’t “blow the bloody doors off” and do myself some damage. Love Leo

  • Leo, you are doing so well mate, slow and steady ( as you would and have advised me) I think we all agree how brilliant our NHS is…recover well my friend.
